A tax on the "Rich" that the Dem's would hate

The rich is not taxed today as income tax is based on what we make not what we have. Perhaps a one time tax of 1% of our net worth would shut the democrats up. If the money collected would be paid on the national debt and not more congressional spending I would be for it. If in combination of stocks, equity in your home, automobiles and other property equaled 1 million dollars then you would have 1 year to pay the $10,000 owed. If you had a net worth of $10,000 you would owe $100. This would be a tax on wealth and would not affect jobs but in fact create them as people would invest to keep from having to pay tax on the wealth that they have been sitting on. The democrats do not want to tax wealth......they just want to tax the creation of wealth. Just think how bad this would scare such people as Senator Kerry with their great wealth yet so little income.
