A Marines perspective of the nude photos of Women Marines

We have gone through all this for the last 30 years

Women are in the Military, they are meeting high standards and achieving high rank

. And are entangled in constant scandal that is weakening the forces. Now it's not to blame them or the men, but more so to blame the set up in which has created the problems.

No....the men engaged in rape, harassment and intimidation are weakening the forces

. Forcing the military into a social engineering nightmare has weakened the forces.

Women have had active roles in the military since the 70s
They are here, they serve their country, they do a good job

. No one is suggesting that the women leave the military, but rather to re-arrange the military to make it work for all, and to stop these dam problems. If that means we need to separate the forces again, then so be it.

Short answer, it won't. Women have been integrated in the military for over 30 years now, and to try to have a "male" military and a "female" military would cause more problems than it would solve. Besides, the bureaucracy would be horrendous.

I have no problem with women training with the men but it is foolish to think that hormones will never come into play. Sometimes there is a woman that can keep up with the training although it is rare. What I am afraid of is that the standards of training will be lowered to allow the women to make the cut. I once saw a sign posted at one of the bases that I was stationed and it read: "Never let it be said that any Marine died from lack of training". If standards are lowered then that can not be said and the sign should be removed.

In the public areas of the base where both have to conduct themselves in a decent manor (i.e. stores, exchanges, resteraunts, bowling allies etc.), where they go about normal life on their own as do the men then Ok. That is no different than being in the public anywhere else. The training, quarters, mess halls, and such should be separate. Working together in jobs after the training ok. Where are the main problems steming from in all of this ?

Who could not see problems from the Obama Administration pushing the Marine Corps into the training of women and men together? Men are normal when they wish to be with a woman sexually and enjoy looking at them. Women are normal that wish to be with men. These individuals are in good physical shape so you would expect the desire to be even more severe than the fat kids in college or the individuals in every work place in America. If you don't want nude photos of yourself out there don't put them on the internet. I doubt very seriously that anyone sneaked into the women's shower and took the pictures

Here's the deal: you can create male and female units but once the duty day is over in most cases they're going to go home to their spouse or boyfriend/girlfriend, where those pictures are most likely to be taken. It's not like you have the boys and the girls getting naked together at work, this stuff happens off duty at home, wherever home is. IOW, problem not solved.

. It can be done, but a study of it all needs to be done, but the study would have to be in the thinking of re-arranging the forces to stop the problems. Never will stop them totally, but things could be done to make a huge change if need be.

You want to know what the short answer is to fix the problem? Emphasis on good order and discipline, with sexual harassment training every six months.

And, if someone steps out of line, either male or female? Hammer their tits at NJP the first time, and kick them out after the second time. Just like they do with alcoholics.

The military used to give drug offenders and alcoholics a 3 strikes rule, but then they reduced it to a zero tolerance policy for drugs, and a one strike and you're out for alcohol abuse.

When I was in the Marines women were trained separately. When I became a State Trooper women were not allowed to join. The training we received was close to that I received in Marines. A few years later women were allowed to become Troopers and the training was considerably relaxed to allow them to make it through. I do not have a problem with women being Troopers but it was wrong to ease the training for them.

Sometimes, indeed most times, males and females are going to co-habitate, with or without the benefit of clergy as they say. And that is when the nude or semi-nude pictures happen, off-duty and off-base somewhere (meaning not on a military installation). There is no way on God's green earth that is going to change, young men like to take pictures of young women whether either or both are in the military or not.

Far as I'm concerned, the only person who is responsible for my actions when I'm off-duty and off-base is me.

. I guess the military figures they have a huge investment to protect in you, and also the worrying about you representing the uniform respectfully. This is probably what leads the commanders into going beyond the wire sometimes. Now liberals or etc. taking advantage of any holes found in the old fence is what has to be held in caution always.
