2) To the victor go the spoils. If Israel is the latest in a long line of conquerors to get that region sometimes known as Palestine, then it rightfully belongs to them now, just as it rightfully belonged to the Crusaders when they had control. If the "Palestinians" want it now, they are free to wrestle it away from the Israelis.

3) Israel seems to be the only ones who are on that list twice. This shows that while the others forgot about that land, it was only important enough to the Israelis to recapture the land a second time.
