The only way to fix it is to somehow get white democrats out of their bubble and recognize the problems caused by what their party advocates and perpetuates. As long as media remains so biased I don’t think they’ll be able to get it. They feed off of each other and it becomes self-perpetuating.

obviously conservatives have gone off the deep end and can NOT be reasoned with. Fortunately MOST of the population are moderates or liberal progressives. Those people might just ignore the extremists on the left and right and forge a finer middle ground.

I doubt that. If your world is all democrats then that would explain why you have that impression.
But there is a large swath of this country that most urbanites have no clue about and those people are firmly supporting trump.

Yes, those would be on the list of necessary compromises. I'd also go with a complete ban on government financing of higher education.
