2020 election prospects

The real problem remains that the left have been crying about the deficit under Trump while everyone of their candidates are not only wanting to double federal income taxes but push the deficit even higher.
Medicare for all, the New Green Deal and all the other giveaways.
Biden has so many problems with his memory that there is no guarentee that that he will even remember where the White House is are what it is by next year.

Trump may not be a great choice but the economy is doing well. No new wars. No doubling of federal taxes. Yes the Dems are attempting to paint him as terrible because they feel a need to win.

12 months from the election and what are the options for the GOP ?

Will they stick with Trump ?

Do they have time to get behind an alternative ?

What price their credibility if they continue to back Donny ?

I know the cultists on here dont have a problem with anything he does but surely educated Americans realise that something is rotten and will vote accordingly ?

In the UK a delegation of Grandees would meet with the problem and tell them that the game was over. Is that likely,or possible, in the US ?

Are we supposed to care what you think over there in Wales

Cause I sure don't

The GOP is Trump's party. He is King of the Talk Radio Nutters. Anyone who bucks him is labeled a commie and banished.

The Democrats have completely lost their shit and are trying to out-promise, out-spend, out-Identity Politics and out-PC each other.

What a horrible, horrible choice we face in 2020.
.
What exactly has Trump done to harm or make things worse for hard working Americans?

Any anser to your questions are purely speculative a year away from primary elections and probably relies on probably three key factors
1. The economy as always is at the forefront. If we speculate the economy will continue to maintain the current level of success, it will probably have a limited impact on Trump's support, however, there are problems in the important agriculture states and manufacturing jobs are in decline.
2. Impeachment inquiry or impeachment. How much embarrassing and negative impact will come out of the Impeachment Inquiry or actual Impeachment?
3. The unpredictable. A year away and anything could develop or occur.

No, we paint his as terrible because he is a fascist piece of shit who throws babies into concentration camps...

The economy is going into recession... so I hope you aren't going to try to ride that horse.

As a practical matter, no political party has ever dumped a candidate mid-term and still won the next election. Even if a credible challenger could be found to challenge Trump in the primaries, how do they go to the electorate in November and say, "Yeah, Trump was a huge mistake, but trust us, we got it right this time!"

Now, if Trump is impeached and removed, MAYBE Pence could be rehabilitated, but I don't think the GOP will do that unless they present a slam dunk that Trump should be removed.
/——-/ Your premise is absurd. Your feeble attempt to discourage the Trump base with your baseless claims is laughable. But I can play your game too.
Everyone agrees all the democRAT candidates are traitors to the US and want to overthrow our government. So if they are all arrested, who will the Dems run in 2020? Maybe an illegal alien.

What exactly has Trump done to harm or make things worse for hard working Americans?
He exploded the deficit, adding to what hard working Americans, their children and their progeny will owe in the future.

His trade war has thrown us into a manufacturing recession.

He has failed to produce even half of the ongoing GDP he promised.

He has failed to produce the health care plan that HE PROMISED would "take care of everybody" and that "we'd all love".

He has contributed to the toxicity in DC with his childish personal insults and name-calling, making it even less likely that initiatives that would help hard-working Americans directly or indirectly will come to fruition.

I know. Fake news. None of those are good examples. I know the game with nutters.

His tariffs are making consumer goods more expensive and strangling manufacturing...
Yeah?
Unemployment is as at theoretical minimum, wages are finally rising, inflation is nothing, and stock markets continue to rise.

You don’t know what the hell your talking about.

His economy. His promises.

You nutters sure love to take credit for anything good and lay blame for anything bad.

Do you all get trained at the same place?

1. Congress creates the spending budget. Who’s running Congress?

2. Unemployment is at theoretical minimum and wages are rising.

3. Illegals have free healthcare, every American gets healthcare. Obamacare destroyed affordability, you don’t overcome nuclear war overnight.

Of course they will. He is the incumbent President. Even if he is far from their ideal candidate, I doubt Warren and Biden come any closer to checking their boxes than Trump does. Besides, Trump's populism can land on a lot of people's soft spots is some very meaningful ways for them even if they otherwise detest him.
It's looking more and more like the Dems will be running a pretty hardcore lefty, and that just solidifies Trump's position with the GOP -- as if that were even needed.

The ideological chasm of this election will be a few zillion miles wide.
.
Indeed. From one perspective it's the Democrats vs the Nazis and from the other it's the Repubs vs the socialists. In fact, our elections will likely be framed as such for some time. Grab your popcorn and beer … the show has already begun.

And if Trump sent the government into a shutdown over the budget he’d be howling at Trump over that.

I'm not attacking the economy. But since this is my profession, and since I don't get my data and opinions from talk radio, I know what's actually happening.

Therefore, your opinion of it, or me, is of zero interest to me.
