2 patients die waiting for care in Montreal-area emergency room

"Free" healthcare. The Police State has drained our system of resources for decades while harming our economy. This is the end result.

Two patients in separate incidents died while waiting for a doctor's care in a Montreal-area emergency room. ER staff say they cannot keep up with the amount of patients coming in.

My neighbor is an elderly widow who was recently hospitalized for extreme dizziness, loss of appetite. The hospital was at max capacity and so short staffed she spent 3 days in the ER and almost died. They finally figured out she had Salmonella poisoning and she was released a few days later. You are right, be your own doctor and do all you can to not get sick. If you go to hospital these days you might not come back out.

And so statistics would indicate that 20+ Americans died on the street after being refused access to a private hospital's ER.

The health care comparison can't be counterspun to favour America, and Americans don't try anymore. The crisis is accepted without political bias of one party.

The only bias to be found is bias on account of wealth.

Thank you too Zinc. From an outsider's POV, it appears that health care is going to be low key in the coming election. Right?

There's no real opposing position to be taken by either side?

I don't think they planned to be sick.
Alas Canada isn't alone. The last time I sent my Aunt Betty to the E.R. in an ambulance, it was hours before a doctor saw her and she has yet to receive a diagnosis almost a year later.

Our healthcare system isn't like yours but it's just as screwed up thanks to Obamacare. There are fewer applicants though there are tens of thousands but unfortunately medical schools accept only a small fraction of them even though they have increased class sizes by a LOT. That is NOT a good thing by the way. We haven't expanded medical training capability for many years.

Also many candidates do not qualify academically or otherwise and are turned away as our education system still is failing too many. And in our progressive 'woke' society, too many of those who go into medicine out of principle nevertheless aren't willing to devote the time and energy to it as did their predecessors. They want a 9 to 5 job and weekends off which is why most Americans can no longer call up a family doctor to have a rash inspected or a broken toe taken care of. The urgent care and E.R. facilities are hopelessly clogged.

And the general practitioner no longer exists for most of us. We can't get taken care of by one medical facility but go to endless specialists for this or that or the other thing. As a result some things get handled more efficiently but a whole lot gets missed too.

Those who think a government run universal healthcare system will be a big improvement on all that need to have their heads examined.

Government run universal health care are the best in the world in the leading countries.

Here's the answer: To have the best in the world, the country in question needs to be willing to pay for it! That's it! It's as simple as that.

And then the question becomes: Are the country's taxpayers willing to pay the price? If not then the health care system will suffer and the country's people will suffer.

A country can buy the very best in the world if it chooses to pay the price.

So what does a country's people want? They can buy the very best, they can buy adequate, or they can buy near disaster.

Can the private companies provide adequate health care for the money they are receiving right now? Or do they need more money from the people to provide adequate or good enough. Can government do the same?

So ends today's lesson.

Sorry I don't care to attend your class if you are going to teach like that.

Right! and that's why there is no opposing political position to take.
Americans are close to unanimous on the simple fact that their health care system is inadequate.

Nobody wants to support it and you just made that clear!

This is a big problem for Trump. He promised to make it better and he only made it worse!

He did not make it worse. Obama completely screwed it up. Trump fixed via executive order as much as he could without congressional action and things did improve. Our coverages were better, our premiums, copays, deductibles went down. Biden reversed most of Trump's reforms and now it has been more unaffordable than ever. If Trump had won re-election with a GOP congress, it would be pretty much fixed by now.

Did you bother to read the link I provided? How the U.S. so heavily subsidizes healthcare world wide?

Thanks again Zinc! And so we all learn how socialism can slither in the door.

In this example of America, Trump himself is sneaking it in.

The American people want to hear what will make them prosperous again and so it's only going to be up to the politician who can spin the lies and promises the best.

The 'MAGA' slogan itself is the spin doctoring!

It could be more effective if it was MAPA. Make Americans prosperous again!

All lies aren't equally effective.

Your counter argument is much better than spamming!
I think it has a better chance of being accepted by the American people than mine.

Go Trump!

Thank you I think? I'm always leery of compliments from the usual anti-Trump crowd.

But the fact is, the dynamics, economy, and entire concept of the USA plus its sheer size and having the third largest population in the world, not to mention the fact that millions upon millions of undocumented migrants pouring into the country are fast draining our resources to help anybody with anything, makes government run healthcare impractical and unappealing to most of us. The government has yet to do a whole lot of things more efficiently, effectively, or economically as what the private sector can do.
