I'm not sure I can possibly see governor Hochul saying no to NYC! I mean, if she did, wouldn't that be like saying Mamdani is wrong? Ever notice that with Republicans, it is mostly America Great, prosperity, good times ahead, and bounding growth, but with democrats in charge, it suddenly becomes a lot of wrongs to correct, tough times ahead, and belt-tightening? With democrats, we need to raise taxes, stand harder on business, give more away, take less, and do a whole lot of penance for the bad people we've been. There is a whole lot more to apologize for with democrats, a lot more wrongs badly overdue in getting righted.

The state will be tightening the belt, and the city will be putting the screws to you, but only the productive people who have made the place work so as that the non-producers can take a lot more. And soon, NYC will have a whole lot more takers than producers.

Then they will say you only oppose the actions (problems that YOU caused) because it isn't Trump or DeSantis doing it, that you'd be all for it if the GOP were doing it. You are just making it political.

You're expecting democrats to complain? To say they made a mistake? They will be all for this. Because the way Mamdani and the state will pay for it all will be by sticking the screws hard to a whole lot of people, just that they will be people like you, people the democrats don't like: like gun stores, gun-owners, gun rights groups, churches, they will use it as an opportunity to crush those they are against, bankrupt them, drive them out of the state, because they won't care, it won't bother nor hurt them. YOU will be footing the bill and THEY will be prospering by it all. It will be reparations and equity for them. They will declare it justice-- righteous good they are proud to stand behind.

And when a lot of businesses and people move out of the city, that will just make room for MORE OF THEM. And they will have their hand out, and if Trump doesn't help them, sooner or later, they'll get a democrat in there who will.

This is a power grab, and it isn't that Mamdani's ideas are going to fail, but that it doesn't even matter and he and NYC are going to ram them through anyway, and then they will be the biggest city in the USA, taken over, getting bigger by the day and impossible to ignore.

These people went straight for the head of the beast, they already control DC, now they will have NYC, they are aiming for Texas next, they'll find a judge to order the USA to find and bring back every deported alien, they know the GOP is weak and you can't just say BOO and make them all disappear, and if you think the people of NYC will vote to stop this crap and elect level-headed people in their place like Rudy Giuliani again, you've got another thing coming because you obviously do not yet understand your enemy.

The really privileged employees within the New York City boundaries if given a 4-year minimal wage and benefit contract increase and even with retirees seeing the same would greatly increase the revenues for the city. Getting trade unions and teamsters and others to go along with this will empower and enrich the city. These employees will not suffer from this when compared to realities. Corruption though and threats of violence and even death throughout history screws things up.

In the short run. But this will only create room for them to bring in more. Instead, I think at some point the federal government will just have to realize or admit that it is being invaded, a city taken over, an enemy camp established right within the territory of the USA, and that they either treat it as an attack, an invasion, otherwise other cities and territories will soon be taken over, all eventually to declare themselves separate occupied zones which are headed towards having their own governments and autonomy.
