Despite having only one-third the population. It appears that the warmth of collectivism is rather expensive. Has he considered just not spending as much money?
Of course not. Collectivists must BUY their votes. Talk about a cult.

I'm not sure I can possibly see governor Hochul saying no to NYC! I mean, if she did, wouldn't that be like saying Mamdani is wrong? Ever notice that with Republicans, it is mostly America Great, prosperity, good times ahead, and bounding growth, but with democrats in charge, it suddenly becomes a lot of wrongs to correct, tough times ahead, and belt-tightening? With democrats, we need to raise taxes, stand harder on business, give more away, take less, and do a whole lot of penance for the bad people we've been. There is a whole lot more to apologize for with democrats, a lot more wrongs badly overdue in getting righted. The new Mayor’s proposed budget requires that the state give the city billions of dollars. If the Governor says, “no,” then the new Mayor says he will have no choice but to raise property taxes.
You're expecting democrats to complain? To say they made a mistake? They will be all for this. Because the way Mamdani and the state will pay for it all will be by sticking the screws hard to a whole lot of people, just that they will be people like you, people the democrats don't like: like gun stores, gun-owners, gun rights groups, churches, they will use it as an opportunity to crush those they are against, bankrupt them, drive them out of the state, because they won't care, it won't bother nor hurt them. YOU will be footing the bill and THEY will be prospering by it all. It will be reparations and equity for them. They will declare it justice-- righteous good they are proud to stand behind. And not one of the Democrap leaders seems capable of grasping what is to follow as a result of that move.
Many of us warned the NYC electorate about all of this. They COULD have avoided all of this …
Here’s his new Chief of Immigration, formerly affiliated with CAIR.This is what happens when you reach into hell and drag a 9-11 terrorist out and make him Mayor....
The city of NY is not going to survive that kind of stupidity...
She looks like she's freezing. Does she have malaria? Maybe she could use a mug of hot coffee. Here’s his new Chief of Immigration,
I thought CAIR was a subversive, terrorist organization considered an enemy of the USA?formerly affiliated with CAIR.
All good points. The problem is that NYC has been conquered by an Islamist, and he is bringing his anti-American terrorist-affiliated fellow Islamists aboard. She looks like she's freezing. Does she have malaria? Maybe she could use a mug of hot coffee.
I thought CAIR was a subversive, terrorist organization considered an enemy of the USA?
Lastly, isn't hiring someone from CAIR to run your immigration kind of like hiring a bank robber to be your police captain?
And very lastly, since when does the city of NY need an immigration chief when immigration is a federal matter and not a state or city matter? What happens when her immigration policies and actions do not jive with that of our federal government?

The really privileged employees within the New York City boundaries if given a 4-year minimal wage and benefit contract increase and even with retirees seeing the same would greatly increase the revenues for the city. Getting trade unions and teamsters and others to go along with this will empower and enrich the city. These employees will not suffer from this when compared to realities. Corruption though and threats of violence and even death throughout history screws things up.Florida probably should have more money budgeted.
Austerity is not a good thing, and neither is DeSantis.
But since I don't live in New York and none of you do, why has this thread been created?
And why is a Canadian who lives in a nation with socialized services running his mouth about this?
Florida probably should have more money budgeted.
How does the GDP compare to Florida OP?
So one city in a state is just a bit shy of an entire state's GDP.Not great. NYC GDP is 1.2T, Florida is 1.7T, and they do it with less money.
The best thing that could happen is for all the whites to move to the suburbs.
Hochul will have to say no. Otherwise her action will put the ridiculous costs of Mamdani’s socialist experimentation on the backs of all state citizens.I'm not sure I can possibly see governor Hochul saying no to NYC! The state will be tightening the belt, and the city will be putting the screws to you, but only the productive people who have made the place work so as that the non-producers can take a lot more. And soon, NYC will have a whole lot more takers than producers.
Then they will say you only oppose the actions (problems that YOU caused) because it isn't Trump or DeSantis doing it, that you'd be all for it if the GOP were doing it. You are just making it political.
You're expecting democrats to complain? To say they made a mistake? They will be all for this. And when a lot of businesses and people move out of the city, that will just make room for MORE OF THEM. And they will have their hand out, and if Trump doesn't help them, sooner or later, they'll get a democrat in there who will.
This is a power grab, and it isn't that Mamdani's ideas are going to fail, but that it doesn't even matter and he and NYC are going to ram them through anyway, and then they will be the biggest city in the USA, taken over, getting bigger by the day and impossible to ignore.
These people went straight for the head of the beast, they already control DC, now they will have NYC, they are aiming for Texas next, they'll find a judge to order the USA to find and bring back every deported alien, they know the GOP is weak and you can't just say BOO and make them all disappear, and if you think the people of NYC will vote to stop this crap and elect level-headed people in their place like Rudy Giuliani again, you've got another thing coming because you obviously do not yet understand your enemy.

Hochul will have to say no. Otherwise her action will put the ridiculous costs of Mamdani’s socialist experimentation on the backs of all state citizens. I can tell you for a fact that voters all over “upstate” NY don’t want to spend one red cent of their tax dollars for the benefit of NY City.
Most assuredly.Oh I know. A good buddy used to live in Elmira NY, and I know people upstate want no part of this hot mess. It will be interesting now to see what Hochul does. It is a no win situation for her and NY.
She risks her own career if she gives in to Mamdani yet could really hose things up for him and the DNC if she doesn't.
She needs his voters to win, so she better act accordingly.Oh I know. A good buddy used to live in Elmira NY, and I know people upstate want no part of this hot mess. It will be interesting now to see what Hochul does. It is a no win situation for her and NY.

His voters are going to practically revolt once they start getting hit with his taxes and policies. His voters? Many of them will be shipping out.She needs his voters to win, so she better act accordingly.
