...close and enforce the border. No more excuses..
If our choices are...
1. spend $100 million to craft and enforce legislation designed to make US soil metaphorically toxic to Illegal Aliens, forcing them to leave, and not want to come back, or...
2. spend $20 billion, to build a wall...
Which is the more responsible approach to take, at least in the short-to-mid-term, in order to address the 12,000,000 invaders already resident upon United States soil?
Oh..just making up random numbers?..nice tactic...
Oh, come on, of COURSE those are random numbers, but they were intended to demonstrate the likely actual proportion between solutions, in order to drive home a valid point.
...Close and enforce the border. Cheap and effective...
How does this help us to rid the country of the 12,000,000 Illegal Aliens already present upon United States soil, without our express prior consent?
...Deport all illegals...
Agreed.
But make them SELF-deport.
Make conditions here sufficiently onerous for them that they'll pack up and head home on their own, without us having to invest the national debt in deportation operations.
....Seize assets from the nations that have illegals here and apply them to the cost of deportation. Cheap and effective...
And, do you happen to have handy, (1) the estimated cost of deporting 12,000,000 Illegal Aliens, and (2) the estimated value of the assets that you propose to seize, and (3) an understanding as to whether or not that will be enough to pay the bill, and (4) an understanding of what that will do to our foreign relations, for decades to come?
Your solution causes more problems than it solves... it's a non-starter.
