The cognitive dissonance involved is the left's insistence that if somebody on the right criticizes somebody, it puts that person and their families at risk of attacks, violence, death threats, whatever.

But for some reason if THEY accuse somebody of whatever, no matter how hateful or inflammatory or speculative or downright dishonest, that's okay and an exercise of their First Amendment Rights. Chaffetz is 100 percent on point here.

Trump has every right to defend himself in court and elsewhere. If they don't want to give him so much face time, maybe they shouldn't have him arrested and indicted for the most ambiguous or dishonestly characterized 'crimes.'
