Young Washington to Hit Theaters For The 250th Anniversary of The United States of America

I'm probably going to get laughed for this at but I don't actually remember a whole lot about George Washington. Just that he was our very first president, founding father, and US general. That's about it though so I'm really looking forward to this movie to fill in the blanks for me. Oh yeah and he better chop down a cherry tree or I'm rioting!! 😆 JK, JK 😝

Fox Nation has a short series about Washington that I watched. It was very enlightening. Learned new things.

We don't celebrate George Washington's birthday, But we should. He was one of the greatest men in history. Not for his brilliance, though he was a competent general, but for his character — he was extraordinary.

He had two chances to become a dictator of the United States, and he turned them both down. Many people probably don't realize how extraordinary that is. Men just don't do that. Everybody thinks they're so great — that if they were in charge of everything, everything would be perfect. But George Washington knew better.

He actually gave us the country we have. Everything we have today is because he planted the seed. People talk about the greatness of Lincoln — and Lincoln was a great man. But compared to Washington? Without Washington, there would be no United States of America today, with all our freedoms and prosperity.

And we're not grateful enough to celebrate his birthday.

Do you really feel that way about George Washington or are you just afraid that the film is going to do him injustice?
What injustice?

He had wooden teeth......right? LOLLOOLLLL

We used to have a George Washington birthday holiday and an Abraham Lincoln birthday holiday, they were rolled up into President’s Day.

there is a famous picture of him crossing a river

That’s because their birthdates were only ten days apart. With some states acknowledging one and not the other, it created confusion that was reconciled by consolidating both into one date.

I saw it in the theater and I own it on Blu-ray now. Cabrini was pretty good too and The Last Rodeo.
I saw it on streaming. I found it quite truthful. The depiction of the predators was spot on. They just never think they did anything wrong.

I would have to see who is producing it, in order to have any trust whatsoever that it would be a movie worthy of the portrayal of Washington.
If it's more woke nonsense, I would have ZERO interest in seeing the father of our country skewered by revisionists who only want to portray our founding fathers as evil Americans.

Again, it's Angel Studios so it isn't going to be woke.

If I had to choose one over the other, I would have kept Washington and dumped Lincoln.

Lincoln has lost some luster.
Though I’m glad to be a current American — certainly better than to not be — I’ve learned to recognize that not all of what was taught about Lincoln and American history was quite so altruistic.
Lincoln was kinda like what the head-hog would be in Animal Farm.
