Yikes! The oddball things I'm seeing being reported about the top players in Major League Baseball history are mind boggling.

ESPN did a report on the "Top 100 MLB players of al time, and what a mess."

Here's a list of their top 10. (that might have you scratching your head)

10. Stan Musial

9. Walter Johnson

8. Barry Bonds

7. Mickey Mantle

6. Lou Gehrig

5. Ted Williams

4. Ty Cobb

3. Hank Aaron

2. Willie Mays

1. Babe Ruth

Excuse Me! Willie Mays & Hank Aaron are rated above Ted Williams , Stan Musial, & Lou Gehrig ?

Lifetime batting average:
Mays - .301...........Aaron - .305
Musial - .331...........Gehrig - .340........Williams - .344

In addition, Gehrig, & Williams both had higher Home Run average & higher RBI average than Mays & Aaron.
Also, Williams is the last man to have hit over .400, and Gehrig holds the American League record for RBIs (185). untouched for 95 years.
Lastly including in this top 100 wacky list are named steroid users Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens, Alex Rodriguez, Mike Piazza

EARTH TO ESPN - steroid users don't have performance stats. All that can be said of them is the team, the dates , & position in the field.
