SC County GOP If You ve Had Pre-Marital Sex You Can t Be A Republican

WOW, have of the repubs in Congress now would be ineligible!
Though at first the resolution would have required candidates to sign the pledge, Smith clarifiedin a statement Monday that "due to various legal issues" the LCGOP cannot require that the candidates sign the pledge if they meet all of the other qualifications for a run. But, he said, the committee "reserves the right to vet its candidates and will encourage all candidates to uphold the principles of the party's platform as well as petition candidates to sign a pledge to do so. However, no candidate will be denied access to the Republican Party primary ballot for refusing to sign the pledge."

LOL, progressives have the same attitude about different things. Its what makes you want to ostracize anyone that doesn't accept things like gay marriage, never mind tolerate it. You idiots are worse because you use government to force people to accept your morals.

All this GOP section is doing is ASKING people to sign a pledge.

Don't liberals want to know if a democrat candidate supports abortion or same sex marriage? Would they vote for a democrat that didn't?

Not rationalization, it's fact. And I see no issue with them doing it.

What problem? Are they forcing people to live by this pledge?
Are they making YOU sign the pledge?

In a Republic, actually
"But then they get even more specific. From the Chronicle:

'and you are not allowed to favor any government action that would allow for civil unions of people of the same sex.'"

In other words, war against the Constitution, and pledge your contempt for the rule of law.

No, this isn't representative of all conservatives, but this sort of ignorance of, and contempt for, the Constitution and its case law is common mostly to the right.

If one assumes one has a constitutional right to it, which you people seem to treat as a fact when it is clearly not one.

just the suggestion of that type of horseshit reeks of totalitarianism ..

A political structure that involves the population of a country being entirely subject to the absolute authority in pursuing its goals. Carrying on normal business and personal activities under a totalitarian regime can be challenging since government agents and the police often act without being constrained by normal legal procedures.

These are people that want to run under the Party name, it isn't the government making you sign a pledge about anything. These people also have no real mechanism to enforce said pledge, save suing for breach of contract (tenuous at best).

You want to find totalitarianism? Look to the left using government agencies to ruin people who don't want to participate in gay weddings via business transactions.
