Actually, we need to have a conversation about the subpar dumpster fire we call public education.
Furthermore, qualified or not, illegal is illegal. If we're going to have laws about entering, remaining, and working in this country, they need to be followed.
I am not sure it is all public education. A lot of it is shitty parenting, and many of the shitty parents are just shitty people, and shitty citizens in general. It take good civic minded citizens and good parenting for public education to work. But this is the modern world where kids can smart off, at will. The most popular Youtube videos of late, are adults smarting off to cops, just because they can, when if stopped and asked for our license, you or I would never think to refuse to even roll down a window or refuse to ID. We were raised different. We could not smart off to adults, much less teachers or cops. If we did, they would call our parents and there would be a reckoning that night, when we got home. Most asians still seem to have good parenting skills and the make sure their kids pay attention in school, even public school, do their homework (however much need to excel, not just get by) and on average, the perform much better. Education is out there, but kids must be receptive, and that sometime requires parents to REQUIRE them to work the program for long term benefit, the kids are too stupid to realize on their own. Kids are second class citizen, without ability to vote, make contracts or do anything, their parents do not allow them to do. But, in this day and time, kids are set up, to believe they are all great, and all their actions acceptable, no matter what kind of little assholes they act in public. The populist Right wing reveres a man as a leader, more for his giving the finger to the world and getting away with (as they wish they could and often try), that any societal positive leadership exhibited. I have no problem with teachers, as they put up with the normal kids, the smart kids and all the little bastards (figurative and literal) released into society and our schools, to disrupt and then be defended right or wrong by shitty parents, shitty citizens themselves. Then we want to blame the schools.
Nope! Most of it is the parents.
