The Houthi Rebels are......rebels. They are puppets of Shia Iran which pulls their strings. The "non-rebels" which comprises most of the Yemeni people, are more closely related to the Saudi Sunni's.
Both the Sunni and Shia believe that the other is not true Muslim, which came about because of a split in who claimed to be the true heir to its teachings.
The bottom line though, is irrelevant. Shariah law is part and parcel of its laws, and Sharia Law is 7th century barbaric and evil. Just some of its existing and practiced laws regarding women demonstrates that the religion needs to go.
1. A woman's testimony in court is worth half that of a man.
2. A woman needs "four male" witnesses to prove a rape has occurred.
3. If a Muslim man is married to a non-Muslim woman and there is a divorce, the child "must" go to the man.
4. According to Quran: 4.34, a husband may beat his disobedient wife. Despite what Muslims will tell you, there was not mention of a half-inch stick.
So, I don't hold much sympathy when non-Muslim nations wage war against its hardcore followers.
