Actually it is harder to get a firearm in America than it was back 20 years ago . The NICS system went into place since then and several states and cities passed more stringent licensing requirement. For instance, more stringent gun laws is the reason Heller sued the filthy ass government of DC and McDonald sued the shithead Democrats in Chicago to restore their right to keep and bear arms.

No stupid gun law will ever stop a bad guy from getting or using a gun for crime if that is what they want to do.

For instance, Florida has a law that says you can't take a firearm into a bar.
