If Biden drops out it will be an uphill climb regardless of who the DNC puts in there. There are already a number of states where they can't change who the nominee is on the ballot unless their candidate is dead and a few more are coming up. Wisconsin and Nevada are locked in I believe and GA is soon approaching. If those 3 swing states are essentially surrendered to Trump getting to 270 would be difficult for anyone.

Second, our entire strategy in Afghanistan was based on support from local warlords propping up the Afghan Government. Doha had cut off payments to those warlords, all of whom were switching back to the Taliban.

Here's the thing. The Taliban wasn't doing anything to interfere with our evacuation. They were happy to see us leave at that point. The incident that killed 13 troops was pulled off by a faction of ISIS that was opposed to the Taliban.
