Yarden Gerbi, an example to us all: Children from the hemato-oncology ward in Ichilov's "Dana-Dwek" Children Hospital in Tel Aviv were moved to tears when Judo Olympic medalist Yarden Gerbi offered her medal for sale. Yarden plans to donate the proceeds of the sale toward helping children with cancer who are being treated in Ichilov Hospital.

In response, the children made her a colorful poster, while the hospital team thanked Yarden, in an accompanying letter, for her strength and kindness.

"Yarden,

"Thank you for the strength you give us. Like you, we too will win!"

Professor Roni Gamzu, director of the medical center, praised Yarden as a true sports hero.

Nice of her, so how much does Israel give for the bronze medal?

So about 31,800 dollars. That's good of her.

How much would you pay for one if the proceeds were going to an islamic cause.

I would expect it to raise $10,000 at least

Yarden not only prooved to be an excellent sportswoman, but an excellent human being as well. Thank you, Yarden.

God bless our champions.

Read the story again..."Yarden Gerbi offered her medal for sale. Yarden plans to donate the proceeds of the sale"

She has not offered the prize money, only the Medal

No prize money for winning an Olympic medal, they are all amateurs and so dont get paid.

ONCE AGAIN YOU FAIL BECAUSE OF YOUR LACK OF INTELLIGENCE

Well the medal itself the internet says is less than $5. Who would want to buy her medal?

Many peoplke would to say they had a valid Olympic medal. The price is nothing compared to the value, which is why a house costing $50,000 to build can cost anything from $75,000 to $2 million depending on where it is.

And in a related story, Achmed Bin Khara of Gaza-hole donated his bronze medal in long distance stone throwing, so that 12 year old Mohammad Ebn Kalb can have a suicide bomb vest for the next "operation".

Now that's a real Paleshitian philanthropist, helping his brethren get to those 72 virgins, one suicide bomb at a time.
