Write a New National Anthem

America the Beautiful.
No blood and guts. No real high notes.

O beautiful for spacious skies, for amber waves of grain
for purple mountain majesties above the fruited plain
America, America, God shed his Grace on thee
And bind us all in brotherhood from sea to shining sea

How did I do?

America the Beautiful.
No blood and guts. No real high notes.

O beautiful for spacious skies, for amber waves of grain
for purple mountain majesties above the fruited plain
America, America, God shed his Grace on thee
And bind us all in brotherhood from sea to shining sea

How did I do?

It is about what makes America great
It is a beautiful song

Star Spangled Banner is a nice song but it is about surviving a bombardment
Not as inspiring

America is awesome
you scummy little shits
if it wasnt for the muzzies
we wouldnt be involved in your shit
stop coming here and blowing shit up
then complain when your families ashes get put in a cup
Amen

America the Beautiful.
No blood and guts. No real high notes.

O beautiful for spacious skies, for amber waves of grain
for purple mountain majesties above the fruited plain
America, America, God shed his Grace on thee
And bind us all in brotherhood from sea to shining sea

Sorry, but the National Anthem is the most beautiful song if you truly understand the words to the poem.

When the poem was written America was about to fall to a Brittish invasion but because of the heroic efforts of that night the American people fought to keep that flag waving over that fort and the next morning it stood there ( the flag ) to show our defiance and will and that poem should remind us that daily...

Or we could go with American Tune and all slit our throats in unison.

And I don't know a soul who's not been battered
I don't have a friend who feels at ease
I don't know a dream that's not been shattered
or driven to its knees
But it's all right, it's all right
We've lived so well so long
Still, when I think of the road
we're traveling on
I wonder what went wrong
I can't help it, I wonder what went wrong

I do understand, Bruce, but it's hard to sing and we are about more than war (or so I would like to think). We don't love our country for the bombs and cannons. We love it for standing in spite of them. It's what we love beneath the fighting that counts. I get what you mean, though.

No, it is about surviving 'through the perilous fight', the dark night, against all odds. It is the story of a besieged, ragtag group of underdogs risking all for the 'broad stripes and bright stars'....long may it wave, o'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

It symbolizes the spirit, the yearning to be free...the costs of the struggle. America the Beautiful is a wonderful song describing great beauty. The Star Spangled Banner symbolizes the enduring struggle for freedom, the great spirit of America.

I'm not sure...

O beautiful for heroes proved In liberating strife,
Who more than self their country loved,
And mercy more than life!
America! America! May God thy gold refine
Till all success be nobleness,
And ev’ry gain divine!
