My point remains, through that if we are executing people in a way that isn't really humane, but is "santitized", we are shirking the horror of what we are doing.

Personally, I am against government executions.

In Cold Blood. The first movie based on a book by Truman Capote left out the part of the sexual relation between Capote and one of the killers but showed an accurate rendition of execution by hanging. The second movie hinted at Capote's relationship and also showed a accurate rendition of hanging. Apparently convicted killer Gary Gilmore thought he could bluff the system by picking the firing squad but he was wrong.
