I know what I know from 4 years of nursing school which included 2 years of clinicals and 3 levels of classes in microbiology, hell I can tell you what a T streak is, what an agara plate is, how you count and determine growth colonies and in my 2nd year of microbiology I grew my own bacteria and viruses in there.

No they were not effective. Even a little bit. The only thing masks did was make it take longer for everyone to get COVID. But it did not stop anything. If no one wore a mask everyone in the world would have been exposed in say 8 months. If everyone wore a mask then everyone would have been exposed in probably 16 months.

And I say they don't because that's what I learned in nursing school when become a RN. All the masks people wore were for droplets, meaning like spit, spittle, blood, etc. a droplet mask absolutely does not stop a virus.

Most infectious viruses are not breathed in. They get on your hands when you eat, touch your lips, rub your eyes and get in through mucus membranes. They can via breathing but that requires someone to sneeze directly in your face, but COVID isn't just floating around in the air constantly.

Can you smell pizza or soap through a mask? Well that means microscopic particles pass through the mask and go up your nose to scent receptor sites. Know how big a virus is? It's microscopic.

All the times I was in surgery and I wore a mask? It was for the sake of the patient so I speak I don't spit into a open wound. It was never for my protection.
