no.. It's the WORD that use to DESCRIBE that particular type of picture.. We could just all call them e-motions or some darn other thingy. I think "thingy" has been highly overlooked as a yearly winner..

Do they give synonyms for it??

I think that word was originally used for the keyboard strokes like the colon & end parentheses to signify a ...although they are still interchangeable.
