Woman Upset Her Daughter Did Halloween Worksheets After She Opted Out

Expecting everyone to cater to your weird demands is just too much.
You don’t think white people are privileged right? You don’t think that people should just cave into a racial job hiring quotas?

You’re against a young child being able to get a sex change operation.?

So what if the little girl came home and said that she wanted to be a boy?
The Left not only supports that, they would probably want the school to be told that before the parents so they can coach the child to keep it from the parents.

Too many parents these days are Karens. It's driving people out of teaching at record rates. Used to NEVER hear of teachers leaving/retiring mid-year. Now it happens all the time...and more power to them
Did you never have a Jehovah's Witness family in your classroom? Did you disregard their opt outs? Would you tolerate a school or teacher that disregarded your instructions for the education of YOUR child? Teachers are not infallible.

Dude, the child literally colored in a kettle and said what type of costume she likes to wear. Give reality a break.

Yes, more than a few. By and large they are very respectful and accommodating.

It sounds to me like the parent emailed and maybe the teacher didn't get around to reading it until later. And of course, the pastor gives no grace for that....but calls in the media. Of course.

Granted, the media didn't need to get involved and the school seemed to be handling the issue. However, the parent has every right to opt out of school activities that are contrary to their beliefs. Some of the responses in this thread seem intolerant of those rights.

I agree on principle but is there some kind of bar for being reasonable? For example, in schools with a high Muslim population, music class can be a nightmare. Depending on what the Imam commands, students maybe be able to:

--Fully participate
--Sing, but not play instruments
--Play instruments but not sing
--Listen only
--Not attend at all

How does a single music teacher accommodate all of this? For starters.

And it was a much worse witness for this mom/pastor to throw the school under the bus than it would have been to restate her expectations and move on. She chose unwisely IMO

In my experience, these opt out forms are distributed at the beginning of the school year and the teachers are aware of the parents desires. It doesn't seem, from the video, that is the case in this instance. Don't get me wrong, I'm fully aware of the stuff that teachers have to contend with that reach far beyond religion and I know that some parents can be a task in themselves, but what this parent is complaining about is valid regarding her religious choices--I think her idea to go to a Christian school is probably the best solution for her.

No, they're not. I don't know what you mean by "opt out forms". Parents can email any time and tell teachers "This is against our religious beliefs".....and we're supposed to accommodate.

This is just one reason no one is going into education anymore, nor should they. They are now recruiting "teachers" in my state after a 4-6 week training period. It's a crisis, and parents like this make it much worse.

Yeah, they are---some are even changing to 'opt in' forms for different issues instead. I am also aware of some of the minimal requirements that states are irresponsibly going to. That also varies by state.

You already quit. STFU now.

If you have something coherent to say, say it. What you just posted has no bearing on what I said.

.
As I've mentioned previously: Your inability to see my point doesn't mean it's not there.

Similar shit happens here.

She's mad her kid colored a kettle. Jeez what a Karen.
Growing up we had JW kids in the class. They were ALWAYS EXEMPTED from participating in these pagan holidays. Just because you're not offended by pagan holidays doesn't give you the right to determine what's okay for your neighbors child. You are the Karen, meddling in other people's children

And I agree with you one hundred percent. Again it's a free country and it's not the government's business to raise your children. It's yours and yours alone without any interference from them.
