Probably the people in the terminal didn't want to be prosecuted by Alvin Bragg for being a good samaritan. It was a black guy doing the stabbing, and they didn't want to be painted as a racist for profiling him. Daniel Penny had to pay a lot of moolah to defend himself, and spend a lot of time in court that he will never be compensated for. If none of the people had that kind of time or money, they did what they could do- stay out of the way.

Possibly pepper spray, but you need to find it under attack, so quick kicks and punches are better, at least until you find the pepper spray.

I disagree. Laken Riley fought hard for 17-minutes before she was killed. If she would have had a weapon, a knife, a .380, pepper spray, maybe she would have survived.
