The defendant chose to refuse an offer of immediate transportation back to Ireland, decided to stay in ICE Custody at Fort Bliss, and is now complaining about that.

It does not matter whether or not it is a felony, and it has already been adjudicated in court.

As I noted, my point in this thread is that overstaying a visa is NOT a felony. I would love to see all illegal immigrants deported, but I know from previous experience in life that THE GOVERNMENT IS NOT CAPABLE of doing so. It has been trying to get rid of "illegal" drugs for more than a century but has failed spectacularly. There is no logical reason to believe it will succeed at getting rid of illegal immigrants, and killing innocent US citizens is wrong and illegal.

Good luck with the idea of picking a choosing what laws you want to obey.

Speeding is not a felony; however it will not matter if you tell the cop the state gave you a driver's license, nor will it matter if you tell the cop you were trying to slow down, nor will it matter if you mention it is dangerous to be standing on the side of the road, nor will it matter that a bunch of people who may also have been speeding were not stopped, you'll still get a ticket.
