Well, it's really comparing apples of different varieties. Beck's format is so much different from Rush, that's it's really not a competition. Rush is the king of conservative talk radio, mostly because he was pretty much the pioneer. Beck has taken what was once a conservative stance and formed it into more of a 'sort of' liberitarian movement, but it's really sort of a hybrid. In conservative TV commentary, O'Reilly usually holds the top position, and he's really fairly balanced as far as the format goes. Hannity has a pretty well-defined niche in that he has the type of audience that Rush has, but they prefer viewing over listening.

Most conservatives would regard the idea of the likes of Beck or Limbaugh being considered "the leader" as really bad comedy. Beck and Limbaugh more so than many others. Beck would find the idea of an alky as head of the conservative movement distasteful, and Limbaugh has no patience with egocentric blowhards.

I don't think Glenn will take it seriously. I don't think he sees himself as a leader. He is just a guy who is lucky enough to have a voice and who people listen to for some reason. He just tries to do the best he can with what he can and is very articulate.

That's just his act.

Anyone who has their own radio program and their own TV show likes the spotlight.

He considers himself a leader. If he denies that, then it is just part of his schtick like his fake tears.

He isn't acting. That's what he is like in person as well.

You can sort of see the Mormon part of him in his "prepper" mentality. Mormons tend to look at the long term picture and make contingency plans. Not saying it's a specifically Mormon thing, but it's a part of their church philosophy.

No doubt, much of the media wants to ignore the question, because it raises some troubling facts: Practically none of the Blacks, in a city with a population comprised of HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of blacks, responded to Al Sharpton's invitation to commemorate what could arguably be called one of the greatest speeches in American History by one of America's Greatest Men, Martin Luther King.

Why?

One plausible answer: Blacks Do Not Care about a civil rights movement that they'd much rather put behind them.

Another plausible explaination: Al Sharpton is no longer a respected Leader, and none other has arisen.

But the THIRD possibility is most disturbing: Blacks agree with Beck.
