Now here's the thing. NO, they probably aren't a 'healthy' act.

Neither is smoking, drinking, or eating that cheeseburger.

I knew a gal when I was in the service who had an abortion because she stopped taking her birth control pills and wanted to get her boyfriend to finally make good on his promise to marry her after two years.

He didn't. into the sink it went. Then she broke up with this guy, got back together with him despite all her friends (and some of his) telling her he was bad news. The second abortion soon followed.

Now, here was the thing. This girl was brought up in a very strict Catholic and Asian Family, so you can't blame the 'family values" thing. Her parents really thought she was still a virgin at 21. She was college educated.

Point is, you are going to have abortions as long as you have people who make bad decisions about their life. The best you can do is arm them with the information and skills to avoid bad decisions.
