Windows media player wont play mpeg4

it says its not compatible. i was trying to download a video. if someone were to make a DVD of the video would my computer be able to play the dvd instead of it being downloaded directly to my computer?

google for 'codec packs' for whatever operating system and program you're using. Should fix ya right up.
