No one alive todays has witnessed anything like Trump. He is unique in so many ways. Hate him or love him, there is little doubt that Trump has turned the American political scene in ways few, or no one could have ever.

Obviously, history will show for better or worse, But what do you think now?

Trump is Hitler. Trump is racist misogynist transphobic xenophobic islamaphobic blah blah blah blah.

That being said, I think you mean “Transformative”.
I made a mistake in the OP by writing transactional instead of transformative. The Poll question was correct.

Yeah, because it was such a tightly kept secret before Donald Trump came along.
There was always the radical fringe who tended to remain in the shadows

Trump has brought them front and center and legitimized their anti gay, anti immigrant, anti minority views

LOL, what country do you live in? the radical fringe has always been the ones out front, screaming and wearing ridiculous costumes, they're not the "dark side" of politics, they're just a side show.

The dark side of politics is the business as usual that has been going on in Washington D.C. for decades, where money & power get exchanged in smoke filled back rooms at the expense of the plebs. President Trump is just the one that came along and pointed it out to all the people that were clueless as to what has been really going on, which is why the regime drones hate him.

The question before the country is whether he will be able to transition the US towards an autocracy. He's hit the ground running.

His SC enabled his desire to rule without concern for legal recourse.
He's introduced crony capitalism by picking billionaires to help run the country.
He's already threatened retribution against the media and political enemies.
He has sought to circumvent the Senate's advise and consent power on cabinet nominees concentrating power in the executive branch.
He's promised to unilaterally enact inflationary tariffs.
He's promised to subvert parts of the 14th A.

Your words, not mine but I appreciate your efforts at building a purdy lil' strawman.

The only thing I'm convinced of is; the new administration is shaping up to be anything but business as usual, which I'm fine with since business as usual in D.C. sucks. It remains to be seen if this one works out better for the citizenry, but I see reasons to be hopeful.

Perceived change and disruption of a crony system, can also be, for the worse....it's not always for the better....

Lets hope that's not the case....

Of course, change always has the potential to go either way, however under the circumstances it is clear that the business as usual in D.C. needs to drastically change else, we are headed for disaster and all legions of Nero's in Washington will fiddle while the rest of us burn when it happens.
Lets hope that's not the case....
Like I said, I see reasons to be hopeful.

Trump seems intent on tearing down Government with no plan to replace it with something better.
He also is attacking a free press, our voting system, gay rights, worker protections

"no plan to replace it" IS something better, in case you haven't notice government has paddled us down the Niagra River and then threw away the paddle.
He also is attacking a free press, our voting system, gay rights, worker protections
When did he do that?

We don't have a "free press" anymore, unless of course you're counting the "podcast" space, beyond that we have gigantic corporations fully captured by the two major political parties and he damn well should be "attacking" that.

We should ALWAYS question the legitimacy of our "voting system", lest it becomes hijacked by those working against the best interests of the voters.

There is no such thing as "gay rights", there are just rights.

What "worker protections" did he "attack"?
