Will the Federal Government Shut Down on Monday?

I am under the opinion that Congress has been handed a no win situation on this one. Most of the bill he is rejecting (without actually vetoing it) was already agreed on and even suggested by his Administration. There are parts that the Senate has added and the House has added but essentially, it's exactly what Munuchin already supported.

This is another case of Rump breaking as many toys on his way out of the Nursery as he can.

Trump needs to either sign it or veto. A vote to override a lame duck veto would be far easier at this point than renegotiating.

The simple answer is "we live on this world". Foreign aid advances our nation's security interests, our economic interests, and generates good will towards America on the national stage.

they are 2 separate bills, but the republicans treated them as one, we have been giving money to foreign countries for decades, it was something tramp wanted and it was in 2019. It all depends on Trump. If he sees it will benefit his political future, he'll sign it. Congress is adjourned for the holidays and the new congress will meet on Jan 6th. If he does not sign it, this would mean starting from ground zero on a plan to keep the government open and the coronavirus package. At best, we would be looking at weeks for new legislation.

The only ideology that Trump supports is Trumpism. He doesn't give a shit about Conservatism, Liberalism, Socialism, or Capitalism nor either party.
