The rather brilliant Mo Gawdat does believe that B. M. I. is one of the only ways to prevent a pandemic of homelessness and poverty as robotics and A. I. make so many careers nearly obsolete.

I happen to believe that he is correct but I have some suggestions as to how this shift can be done in such a way that the greatest boom in PRODUCTIVITY of workers will be set in motion that will lead to the greatest economic boom that has ever been seen.

"Ex-Google Exec (WARNING): The Next 15 Years Will Be Hell Before We Get To Heaven! - Mo Gawdat"

Mo Gawdat sounded the alarm on AI, and now he’s back with an even bigger warning: AI will cause global collapse, destroy jobs, and launch us into a 15-year dystopia that will change everything. Mo Gawdat is back!

Mo Gawdat is the former Chief Business Officer at Google X and one of the world’s leading voices on AI, happiness, and the future of humanity. In 2017, he launched ‘One Billion Happy’, a global campaign to teach 1 billion people how to become happier using science and emotional tools. He is also the bestselling author of books such as, ‘Scary Smart, Solve for Happy’.

He explains:

▫️Why we need to start preparing today for AI
▫️How all jobs will be gone by 2037
▫️Why we must replace world leaders with AI
▫️How AI will destroy capitalism
▫️The one belief system that could save humanity from dystopia

I believe that Economist Milton Friedman set the intellectual stage for what must happen next.

[Milton Friedman Ph. D.] :

x. The Distribution of IncomeFriedman examines the progressive income tax, introduced in order to redistribute income to make things more fair, and finds that, in fact, the rich take advantage of numerous loopholes, nullifying the redistributive effects. It would be far more fair just to have a uniform flat tax with no deductions, which could meet the 1962 tax revenues with a rate only slightly greater than the lowest tax bracket at that time.

xi. Social Welfare MeasuresThough well-intentioned, many social welfare measures don't help the poor as much as some think. Friedman focuses on Social Security as a particularly large and unfair system.

xii. Alleviation of PovertyFriedman regarded welfare programs as misguided and inefficient. To replace them, he advocates a negative income tax, giving everyone a guaranteed minimum income.

Now... it is important to not set this up in such a way that produces some sort of "Mark of the Beast" situation. Near death experiencer Dannion Brinkley was shown one version of how that error could well be made.

[Dannion Brinkley] :

"BOX 12: Technology & Virus

The 11th box was gone & I was into the 12th box. Its visions addressed an important event in the distant future, the decade of the 90's (remember, this was 1975), when many of the great changes would take place. In this box, I watched as a biological engineer from the Middle East found a way to alter DNA & create a biological virus that would be used in the manufacture of computer chips. This discovery allowed for huge strides in science & technology. Japan, China, & other countries of the Pacific Rim experienced boom times as a result of this discovery & became powers of incredible magnitude. Computer chips produced from this process found their way into virtually every form of technology, from cars & airplanes to vacuum cleaners & blenders.

Before the turn of the century, this man was among the richest in the world, so rich that he had a stranglehold on the world economy. Still the world welcomed him, since the computer chips he had designed somehow put the world on an even keel. Gradually, he succumbed to his own power. He began to think of himself as a deity & insisted on greater control of the world. With that extra control, he began to rule the world.

His method of rule was unique. Everyone in the world was mandated by law to have one of his computer chips inserted underneath his or her skin. This chip contained all of an individual's personal information. If a government agency wanted to know something, all it had to do was scan your chip with a special device. By doing so, it could discover everything about you, from where you worked & lived to your medical records & even what kind of illnesses you might get in the future.

There was an even more sinister side to this chip. A person's lifetime could be limited by programming this chip to dissolve & kill him with the viral substance it was made from. Lifetimes were controlled like this to avoid the cost that growing old places on the government. It was also used as a means of eliminating people with chronic illnesses that put a drain on the medical system. People who refused to have chips implanted in their bodies roamed as outcasts. They could not be employed & were denied government services."
(Dannion Brinkley, Saved By The Light, chapter 5)

If fewer college grads are needed, then people need to take training for the jobs that will be available.

BMI means that money needs to be budgeted, and being $38T in debt, we need to start paying down the debt, not throwing money around.

It will probably create more jobs for people.

It might. But the population will be greatly reduced.

I suspect the odds are better than 50/50. It would be smart for us to begin an intelligent discussion on this now, but it's more likely that we'll deny the need for this until it reaches panic time.

Anyone who is paying close attention to how quickly AI and quantum computer are moving knows that we're already down the road, people are already losing jobs to AI, but Americans are no longer able to work together to solve complicated problems.

Will if you believe that you are going to be made obsolete by a robot, I'd suggest that you buy a robot.

Instead of saving to send your kids to off to college, buy them robots that will make a living for them.

The new tech requires new jobs. Jobs arent the problem skills are

When you take your mark, you'll be able to buy, sell, receive the latest in health advancements, receive ubi...........it'll be great for about 3 and a half years.

Much will be replaced in this manner, but the world will always need welders, auto technicians, plumbers, electricians, and carpenters.

A friend of mine has been in the HVAC for 25 years. He got a 1 year degree/certificate and he was off to the races. Bought a new work truck with all the tools he needed and he is busy from all day and weekends. He does it all himself mainly and makes 400k a year and even more and he owed no tuition when he finished his cerfificate.

I imagine that at some point in the future this may become necessary but we are a long way away from that. And, we may pass some kind of laws where it won't even be necessary. The important thing is to not let the rabid lefties use AI as an excuse to bring on socialism.

Good for him.
My boy went to welding school. He was accepted into UT and offered a scholarship to A&M. He’d decided that he had spend enough time in a classroom. He has surpassed all but a couple of his college educated classmates and has no debt to worry him.

Society is confronted with having to totally revisit its ideas about economics. There are similarities to what is coming with robotics and advanced computer capacities (aka, artificial intelligence) to the situation that existed with slavery, i.e., production will be provided by non-consuming entities. Some method for those not employed in production to be able to consume must be established. Economic models such as capitalism and socialism fail to satisfy what is required. We are faced with having to be creative and open to completely new ideas.

Turn to the Austrian school for an economic freedom capable of coping.

Exactly!

But a pretty impressive case can be presented that the national debt of the USA is significantly a practical joke being played on three hundred and fifty million Americans by elected officials who tend to be susceptible to the offers that they get as soon as they choose a home in Washington, D. C?

At least that is how I personally understand what was being attempted by President John F. Kennedy as he tried to replicate the President Lincoln Greenback Monetary Policy Experiment, [ well, some important aspects of Lincoln's Greenback Monetary Experiment anyway]!?

Whether the USA national debt is ten percent a joke....
or thirty percent a joke.....
has implications into the trillions of dollars.....

so I shall get a discussion and poll going on that topic shortly.

[Melvin Sickler] :
" In 1972, the United States Treasury Department was asked to compute the amount of interest that would have been paid if that 400 million dollars would have been borrowed at interest instead of being issued by Abraham Lincoln. They did some computations, and a few weeks later, the United States Treasury Department said the United States Government saved 4 billion dollars in interest because Lincoln had created his own money."
...
...

No United States president since Abraham Lincoln dared to go against the system and create his own money, as many of these so-called elected presidents were actually only instruments or puppets of the Bankers. That is until President John F. Kennedy came into office.
On June 4th, 1963, President Kennedy signed a presidential document, called Exec-utive Order 11110, which further amended Executive Order 10289 of September 19th, 1951. This gave Kennedy, as President of the United States, legal clearance to create his own money to run the country, money that would belong to the people, an Interest and debt-free money. He had printed United States Notes, completely ignoring the Federal Reserve Notes from the private banks of the Federal Reserve.

Our records show that Kennedy issued $4,292,893,825 of cash money. It was obvious that Kennedy was out to under-mine the Federal Reserve System of the United States.

But it was only a few months later, In November of 1963, that the world received the shocking news of President Kennedy's assassination. President Kennedy must have had It in mind to repeal the Federal Reserve Act of 1913, and return back to the United States Congress the power to create its own money.

It is interesting to note that, only one day after Kennedy's assassination, all the United States notes, which Kennedy had issued, were called out of circulation. Was this through an executive order of the newly installed president, Lyndon B. Johnson? Was President Johnson afraid of the Bankers? Or was he one of their instruments? At any rate, all of the money President Kennedy had created was destroyed. And not a word was said to the American people.

A lesson to learn
[Melvin Sickler, Lincoln, Kennedy]

I agree with you and I do believe that Economist Milton Friedman told us how to accomplish that. My idea is that this could be began up here in Canada with a paltry five hundred "northern pesos" monthly. If my calculations are correct this should set in motion the paying down of the Canadian federal deficit at the rate of twenty billion dollars per month, [ after the Canadian economy gets used to this new income supplement]?

Dr. Milton Friedman's idea was that BUREAUCRACY could be kept to a minimum by making an Unconditional but Taxable Basic Minimum Income Supplement of the same number to all citizens [as well as to probably all legal residents]. Dr. Friedman wanted this to be separate from income tax and completely different from the existing Welfare Bureaucracy.

Here is my guess at what Dr. Friedman's idea could lead to:

"There will be a sudden rush to buy farms, ranches, and homes in the country.

Thousands will attempt to flee from cities, hoping that a return to the land and

nature will provide security. There will be a growing urge to "get away from it

all"---and much money will be invested in land and acreage in rural areas by

people who have secret dreams of raising their own food and cattle and of

becoming self-supporting. The price of open rural land will continue to soar.

Acreage within 100 miles of most major cities will skyrocket out of reach to

all but syndicates." (David Wilkerson, The Vision, page 18,19).

It will probably create more jobs for people.

More than will be lost? I kinda doubt that. Creative destruction is a byproduct of capitalism, we've seen it happen here over the past couple hundred years or so. Machines, cars, automation, computers, and now AI. It's hard to see where all these new jobs will come from.

I do not see how BMI can possibly be paid for. How is it that no one is doing it now?

It will probably create more jobs for people.
It is possible for this to be done in such a way that will set off an economic boom unlike has been seen in centuries but...... it is critical that voters do not remain as ignorant of the larger picture as we so often tend to be.
