About the only thing that would suffice as a valid reason is the new president elect died just before taking office then (I believe) there would have to be a special election to elect a new president. He would stay in office only until that is completed and the new president elect could take office.
If he declared marshal law he better have a damn good, iron-clad compelling reason or Congress and SCOTUS will give the nod to Federal law enforcement to arrest him and toss him in jail.

Since he first took office I have believed his intention would be to stay. Most communists do not leave office - they stay in for life. As for the news reports I have been reading recently - it does appear that there is a growing sentiment in America - they believe he is going to stay in office and they are alarmed about it. I am not alarmed as I know that God is in full control and none of this is catching him by surprise. Still I find it interesting that more and more people believe he will not leave office. And they are not necessarily Republican or Christian or any one certain group! There are Democrats who are openly stating they believe he will stay in too!

SJ, that is the point that these people (who believe Obama will stay in office) are trying to make - that if he has no regard for the Constitution or the laws of this land - then what is to stop him.

To begin with in his first term I didn't here much of this kind of talk but as we draw nearer to the end of his second term it appears to be increasing and from alarming places such as our retired military people.
