Nazareth - Israel has agreed to allow the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague to send a delegation to Israel and the occupied territories. It was revealed over the weekend in a step that could dramatically increase the risk of Israeli officials being tried for war crimes.

Emmanuel Nahshon, a foreign ministry spokesman, confirmed to Al Jazeera on Sunday that Israel had agreed to the visit in principle, though the "when and how" were still under discussion.

The ICC's move comes as human rights groups have harshly criticised Israel for closing investigations into dozens of allegations that its military has broken the laws of war during an attack on Gaza in the summer of 2014.

The Hague prosecutors are reportedly interested in examining how effective Israel's legal mechanisms are in investigating allegations of war crimes.

Under the terms of its founding statute, the ICC could take over jurisdiction of such probes if it is persuaded that Israel is unable or unwilling to conduct credible investigations itself.

Will Israel be put on trial for war crimes?

The short answer is NO as the ICC/ICJ has no jurisdiction over Israel. Just as it has no jurisdiction over the UN member states.

So the only way is to bring private prosecutions of individuals on charges of war crimes. Which could lead to pro bono law practices going broke when the cases are adjourned.

And the real war criminals are let of with another hefty wad paid into their Swiss bank accounts by Ban ki Moon

Well war is just business afterall.

ISRAEL has announced it will allow International Criminal Court (ICC) investigators into Israel and the occupied territories. This against the backdrop of the ongoing preliminary examination into the situation in Palestine, opened in 2014, in line with process after Palestine joined the ICC in the same year.

Israel was initially belligerent towards the ICC, threatening to call on its allies to cut funding to the institution and refusing to co-operate. More recently, in June, it indicated it would engage with the ICC.

Which means nothing more than they will allow investigators to investigate alleged war crimes committed by the arab muslims calling themselves palestinians. The UN has already stated that the illegal rockets are war crimes and that the attacks on unarmed civilians are not legitimate defence. Until the UN changes the laws then any nation that opts out of the ICC cant be tried in the International Courts

ICC to visit Israel to assess war crimes

A delegation from the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague will be allowed to visit Israel to assess whether the country could be put on trial for alleged war crimes during the 2014 Gaza War, the Israeli Foreign Ministry has confirmed.

More than 2,200 Palestinians, including 490 children, were killed in the 51-day Operation Protective Edge, which began on 8 July 2014. Israeli losses totalled 64 soldiers and six civilians, including a four-year-old boy.

The ICC launched a preliminary investigation in May this year, shortly after the West Bank Palestinian Authority (PA) was approved as a member. The PA filed evidence on both the 2014 conflict and other more recent violent incidents.

OLD NEWS that has been done and dusted. The ICC has already given judgement and found no case to answer, but did find evidence of war crimes by the arab muslims. This prompted the P.A. to withdraw their allegations before they were arrested when they walked into the UN building

Palestinian sympathizing spam bot.

Ignore list.

I hope so, if Germany had to pay , Israel should have to.

For defending themselves against you islamonazi's. Maybe it is time to make the islamonazi's and their sympathiser's pay heavily for all they have inflicted on the world. Do you think you could afford the bills for supporting the mass murdered 3000 innocents by islamonazi terrorists on 9/11 ?. Or how about the 50 million mass murdered in 1946 when the islamonazi terrorists stole part of india ?
