There will be bitter progs who will be furious with Biden and the "moderates" for getting played like this, but the alternative is worse and they know it. They'll probably threaten to not vote for it but will ultimately vote for it.

It's the ultra-MAGAs that worry me. I think McCarthy probably could have driven a little harder and gotten more but is probably desperate to put this behind him and wanted to build in an extra day or two in case the extremists in his caucus rejected the first proposal.

Since we have never defaulted before, we don't really know what would happen. It may not be all that bad as long as it shuts down the 400 or so government departments that misuse our tax dollars and the politicians. That's a good thing, don't ya think?
