Intersex variations refer to conditions where a person's biological sex characteristics do not fit into the typical male or female categories. Examples include:
Chromosomal Conditions: Klinefelter syndrome (XXY), Turner syndrome (XO), and Gonadal dysgenesis (mixed gonadal dysgenesis).
Hormonal Conditions: Androgen insensitivity syndrome (AIS) and Congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH).
Anatomical Variations:
- Hypospadias (incomplete development of the male urethra)
- Ovotesticular syndrome (presence of both ovarian and testicular tissue)
- Clitoromegaly (enlarged clitoris)
Other Conditions: Complete androgenesis syndrome (CAIS), Partial androgenesis syndrome (PAIS), and True hermaphroditism (presence of both male and female reproductive organs).
It's important to note that intersex variations are not disorders or diseases. They are simply variations in human biology that occur naturally.
