This is Texas.

Today they are executing a man for allegedly shaking his baby to death. Nobody saw him do it, he denies he did it. Doctors at the time determined the baby had all the signs of “Shaken Baby Syndrome”. A diagnosis that is now discredited.

Texas set to execute Robert Roberson despite strong evidence of innocence. What to know.

That’s like saying we should end abortion because one woman is using it as her form of birth control.

Don’t throw the baby out with the bath water.

They just need to stop giving the death penalty in cases like this.

I see enough real life murder shows to know a lot of murderers need to be put down.

But I also believe the Menendez brothers have spent enough time in jail and, based on th3 circumstances, they should be let out. IMO

Texas needs to reform their system but not ban the death penalty.

You don’t know how many murderers in Michigan I see and I wish we could just take ‘em out back and put them down. But Michigan doesn’t do the death penalty.

Finally we disagree on something!

Don't know much about this case. The guy might be a monster who intended to kill the baby. Doesn't matter. We have killed innocent people in the past, and it's clear that we will again in the future. Lock them up forever if you think it is justified, but we don't need to kill more innocent people.

Shaken Baby Syndrome has since largely been debunked as "junk science" and no one has ever been executed for shaking a baby to death. Additionally, the lead detective in the case now says he got it wrong.

Even if Roberson did shake his baby to death, the death penalty is normally reserved for premeditated murder. Namely he planned to kill his child.
At worst, he lost his temper and shook the baby to death.

Not justifying putting him to death

I see a lot of cases on my shows

See no evil, murder tapes, American monster, evil lives here, diabolical, interrogation cam, etc. where there’s 100% certainty and no way you would ever let this person out free again.

I think we should tell prisoners that bad or sociopathic behavior can get you the death penalty.

Maybe that’s the answer. Everyone gets life but evil in prison, caught on tape, can get you put down.

Gang members in prison, dead.

One less Sheeple .
And sets a firm example .

Obviously he might not be guilty but that is incidental .

You need Law and Order not airy fairy fairness .

🎺 🎺
Like the murderer the Texas governor pardoned. They should have executed the guy. No question he did it. And a jury found him guilty of murder.

The problem with states like Texas is they seem to enjoy putting people to death. Once they get a conviction, there is no way they are going to reverse themselves.

In this case, all concerned in trying him admit they got it wrong. The medical science that was used to convict him is now discredited. At trial, witnesses claimed he showed no emotion over his child dying……he has since been diagnosed as Autistic who doesn’t show emotion.

I still crack up like a kid when Lefty Mutants cannot spot obvious banter and mickey taking .

I even signalled it with the Two Trumpets . Have a look Mrs Bull Shit Dog

Add Mealyboo to the list
This is what republicans do. Say what they mean but then say they didn’t mean what they said. Just kidding.

It’s too hard to tell when you’re joking.

Was trump joking when he said cops should rough up apprehended suspects?

I do not believe anyone has the right to take the life of another outside of direct self defense so I do not need an example to support ending the death penalty.

Law enforcement is notorious for not being able to discern when someone is dealing with a mental/medical issue. People with autism do indeed have a difficult time expressing emotions.

When the entire apparatus that investigated the man says they got it wrong but the system refuses to budge we have a problem with our legal system also. Something I've also argued for a long time.

Mr. Roberson was convicted and sentenced to death in 2003 for the death of his two-year-old daughter, Nikki, who medical experts have since determined died from severe viral and bacterial pneumonia that doctors failed to diagnose, not from abuse or SBS. Despite three new expert reports showing Nikki died of pneumonia, no court has been willing to consider the evidence that clears Mr. Roberson of any crime.

With the reexamination of lung tissue collected during Nikki’s autopsy, experts determined “that both a chronic interstitial viral pneumonia and a secondary acute bacterial pneumonia were ravishing [Nikki’s] lungs, causing sepsis and then septic shock.” In the days leading to Nikki’s death, Mr. Roberson repeatedly brought her to the local Emergency Room and her pediatrician, both of whom sent them home with medications that would only make Nikki’s condition worse. Doctors prescribed Nikki with Phenergan and codeine—both of which are no longer prescribed to children because they are known to suppress one’s ability to breathe.

I am never sure how to handle Americans . Hence two trumpets or face wearing sunglasses .
However ,

If you assume I am a beautiful woman with a matching mind and caring heart , you will be truly guided .
Except on Thursdays .

I suspect King Donny never made that remark because even if you do not think the sun beams out of his butt , he is far too smart and savvy to behave like a simpleton .
Usual trick is to take a sentence out of context and the prevailing mood, and then lie .
