Only song I remember is "Yellow Snow".
That’s his humor

He intimidated the **** out of me when I started listening to stuff besides the Beatles, but I was always curious and somewhat aware.

As a guitar player he was an artist who NEVER played the same solo twice, but would improvise based upon an unimaginable amount of variables and custom tailored the solo to the environment.

When you finally become aware of what he — AND EACH AND EVERY MUSICIAN THAT PLAYED WITH HIM — were able to accomplish one time, without a safety net, It’s staggering.

I don’t have Big Musical Ears so I need to listen repeatedly to get it; it’s like listening to 3 Beethoven Symphonies at once and trying to pick out what everyone is playing— and I still hear thing I’ve never heard in all the prior playbacks

One appearance on SNL, he played "I Am the Slime".....Even as a teenager, I knew that would be his only appearance ever on the program.

The man was the OG troll. :laugh2:

I saw that, was pretty awesome

Clapton showed up at a party at the Laurel Canyon home

Short portion of the interview, said nice things about Zappa, the band and his music

Steve Vai on being part of the band

80 songs to pick from Zappa made the set list 5 minutes before the show started, no 2 set lists were ever alike

Best part was Zappa, John Denver and Dee Snyder testifying before congress and fighting music lyrics censorship against Tipper Gore and a bunch of DC elite Karens.
He then made a mockery of the warning lables that were then required on albums with profanity.

Zappa was like Michelangelo and able to see the statue inside of the marble block

15th post
Counting Zappa

Keep it greasy is mostly 4/4 but has bars of 19/16 and 21/16

Drummer Vinny Colaiuta could sight read it, singer Ike Willis could not. But Ike had a titanic musical soul.
