When I worked at the hospital there was a bacterial infection called c-diff that people would catch and it affected their intestines.

It was fatal about 60% of the time even with all the antibiotics and drugs they could muster. It's still around hospitals today. C diff is called a nosocomial infection because the hospital environment actually promotes it.

Our selection process sucks. There is no way in hell we should have ended up stuck with a choice between shitty and shittier... But voting for someone else on the ballot ranked less than 5% is a brainless activity and not even worth showing up at the polls for. Unless perhaps it is the fulfill one's sense of civic duty and to be able to say yes I did my part even though that part was no more significant than a snowflake in a volcano.
