People don't care about character if the character doesn't impact the performance or the person's convictions. With that all said in my mind I still see the Left as winning because Donald Trump is more like a Democrat than a Republican in many ways. Even Mitt Romney and other Republicans have said this. Him being the Republican candidate with how much more like a Democrat he is then past Republican presidents really is shifting the Republican party more to the Left. I honestly have never viewed Donald Trump as a true Republican, I always saw him as another Democrat running for the President representing the Republican party.

And what is funny is previously many years before he even ran for Presidency he said he was probably identified more as a Democrat than a Republican. He said the economy does better under Democrats than Republicans. He even praised Hillary in the past. This is at least according to a CNN article.
