I'm sure you could go on and on. But this post proof that it isn't me that needs to pull his head out of his ass. It's you. You had the opporrunity to give yourself some semblance of credibility by showing that you have the ability to be mildly objective. But the fact that you called the write of that piece a Republican when you A) have zero evidence to support it and B) the fact that the author whether factually right or wrong, passed blame out equally, pretty much shatters what small shred of credibility that you have.
You are one of those people that most people reach an impass with in conversation because you don't have th ability to recognize or acknowledge your own bias and see it at just that. Any reasonable person can see that it would be hard to carry on a rationale conversation with somene who makes accussations that they not only have no evidence for, but can't even be reasonably inferred.
Show me once in the last 8 years where the Republicans accepted responsibility for anything? They even tried to get the Democrats to "share" blame for the Iraq invasion because people like Biden were lied into voting for it. The fact is, occupying and invading was the GOP's idea. If you don't know all the facts, maybe you would swallow that pill, but I must know more than you.
And Factcheck didn't pass out blame EQUALLY. He may have suggested that some of the poor people that got loans under Clinton and Carter lost their jobs recently and got foreclosed. But why did they lose their jobs? Who's fault is this piss poor economy? Jobs goin overseas, the dollar being weak, high unemployment, competing with illegals for work, companies paying workers less and ceo's more. Who's agenda is that?
I understand that the mortgage industry inflated the values of their home. So you want them to share blame. Good, so do I. But I also blame the GOP for this, because they didn't regulate them enough. It happened on the GOP's watch. Plain and simple.
If you want me to say the Dems have SOME blame, I will, but not enough that any of you should be voting for McCain next month. Is that where you are going with this?
And I have all the evidence I need. 8 years worth of it.
I should ask the guy at work to email me the folder he has for me. Before I found this site, I used to tell him and a few others what the GOP were doing from 2004-2006. He has 2000 emails from me. All with links provided. Giving tax breaks to companies when they go overseas, proof they stole the florida election, then Ohio, proof they politicized the justice department, they spied, they tortured, they lied, they should be impeached. The list goes on and on. It's easy to forget how corrupt the GOP was for the last 8 years because they did corrupt shit every day/week. Hell, I can hardly remember what the last scandal was. Was it Ted Stevens?
Think about it. Carter and Clinton wanted poor people to own homes. So did Bush. But the deregulations done in the 2000's are why the economy collapsed and why the banks didn't have enough money in reserve.
Here:
"In 2004, for example, Bush told a group of carpenters in Phoenix that 'the housing industry is booming, which means more people own their home. And that's positive.'
"'We want more people owning their own home. There's nothing like saying this home is my home,' Bush said, adding: 'I've called on private-sector mortgage banks and banks to be more aggressive about lending money to first-time home buyers. And the response has been really good.'
"During an October 2004 speech to the National Association of Home Builders, Bush talked about his administration's record on encouraging homeownership -- including a proposal to allow first-time buyers to make no down payment. He cast the effort as part of an 'ownership society' that would also include health-care and retirement accounts."
