If someone can't buy a gun, they most likely know it and will not try to buy one.
It makes it harder to get a gun. That is progress.
Again, it makes it harder to kill someone. Thats a win.

Everywhere Progs go, carnage follows. During prohibition people drank anyway. There will be underground black markets where weapons are made when you prohibit guns from being sold. Prog failures always must blame other people to compensate for them. Which brings us to the real issue. We do not have plenty for everyone in this world yet. And we are acting in some places like we do and wasting a massive number of resources doing it.
