The founders didn't want our FEDERAL government run by religion. They didn't expect that one day down the road, their words be construed to take God out of schools, the public, and government altogether.

When the Constitution was ratified, several states had an adopted religion. Till this day, our money says IN GOD WE TRUST. The Constitution was specific about Congress not being religiously guided. They did not mean firing local teachers paid by local taxpayers because she led a classroom in prayer.
