Sorry to piss on your cornflakes but I was trained in the military to watch out for communists since the 70s.

That would explain kids raised in homes built before the Korean War.....but I think it has more to do with the lack of a proper education.
Public schools seem to think Climate Change and teaching kids about having two mommies is more important that teaching Math, English, and US History.

Not necessary.
Talking to kids under age 26 will tell you all you need to know.
I had a 24 year old healthcare worker tell me she'd never heard of communism before. But she said that socialism sounded like a good deal.
Schools don't teach our kids to fear communism anymore.
Socialists/Communists are deeply embedded in our institutions.

I was born when communist aggression was a serious problem. The Bay Of Pigs and the Cuban Missile Crisis scared the shit out of most of America.
What's scary is most Gen Z were born after 911 so they don't know what it was like on Sept 11th 2001.
This is why they feel the need to protest for Hamas.....because they didn't have to live thru the shit I've lived thru since Korea.

Sociologists consider cultural "generations" in ten-year groupings. (For some reason, "Boomers" have been forever defined as people born between 1946 and 1964, which I find absurd...but I digress).
Obviously, each generation gets its basic education in grades K-12, and since humans aren't getting any smarter over time, the culture picks and chooses for each generation what information can be abandoned from the prior education and what must be added for the new world in which the current students live. So it is not surprising that "kids today" don't know the same stuff as people who are several generations prior, but those old bastards don't know a lot of what kids today are taught. If you have grandkids and actually talk to them, you know this.
What is concerning, however, is the apparent failure of the public education establishment to teach basic Civics - "kids" have no ******* idea what the Constitution says about separation of powers, and the different roles of the States and the Federal government, They have not been taught about the massive abominations imparted by virtually every Socialist government of the past hundred years ON THEIR OWN PEOPIE(!). This massive epidemic of ignorance results in a couple generations of American young adults who embrace Socialist politicians - even politicians who freely admit that they are socialist.
It is disturbing. I'm glad that I will be dead before the "chickens come home to roost."
