Zone1 Why is antisemitism so much more prevalent among blacks than whites - 4x worse in the most antisemitic category?

Antisemitism has been called "the socialism of fools." Antisemitism combines right wing ethnic and religious bigotry with left wing politics of envy. Antisemites resent Jews because Jews tend to be intelligent, successful, and prosperous.

But seriously, that guy thinks anyone white who achieved did so with help unavailable to blacks. Otherwise, he would have to admit that brains, motivation, and discipline can move a person from poverty to affluence.
IM2 ignores the fact that today blacks are discriminated in favor of with affirmative action programs. Affirmative action discriminates against whites and East Asians. That is why I hope the Supreme Court ends it entirely.

If the SCOTUS ends the racial discrimination of AA, it will be to the advantage of Jews as well. The data does not distinguish between whites and Jews, but I can’t tell you how many smart, academically impressive Jewish boys have been rejected from prestigious programs in order to make room for more blacks with lesser qualifications.

(I believe I mentioned to you that I worked in admissions. That is what kicked off my focus on the wrongs of racial discrimination.)

Jews are 3% of the population and were victims of hate crimes 683 times.
Blacks are 12% the population, and were victims of hate crimes 2871 times.

Looks like both groups are about equal or maybe blacks a little ahead.

Actually, you have a lot of cases of Jews changing their names to sound less Jewish, if anything.

Point of order... what you whine about isn't unique. My grandfather changed his first name from Ludwig to Louis and how we pronounce the family name to sound "less" German. Italians, Irish, Poles... all ran into these kinds of problems, but you know what, in a generation or two, they were allowed to assimilate (as the Jews were) because they were considered "White enough" by the WASPs.

Conversely, blacks started adopting names like Jamal and Lakeisha because the typical personal names were the same ones white people use. So good on them for standing up for themselves, but studies have shown that ethnic names on Resumes get 50% less callbacks.

Hiring managers who do not like Jews know that most Jews are intelligent, so they hire them anyway. That is why Jews tend to be more prosperous than white Gentiles.

From 1925 to 1970, the ADL urged working class Jewish factory workers and shop girls to become dues-paying members of the NAACP.

Board of Education, Jewish lawyer Jack Greenberg was by his side fighting the good fight against racism. Mr. Greenberg succeeded Thurgood Marshall as the NAACP's Director-Counsel of its Legal Defense Fund from 1961-1984.

An advertisement in North Carolina’s Wilmington Journal in 1847 reveals a stain on local Jewish history. And still every year, more hate crimes are committed against blacks according to the FBI.

That's why white women have benefitted most from the policy. And Asians are not being discriminated against.

In the case before the Supreme court Asians were 26 percent f the students admitted into Harvard, blacks, 15 percent.

Study Questions Bias Against Asians in Admissions​


If only standardized test scores were used to admit students to the most selective colleges, Asian enrollments would increase by just two percentage points, researchers say.

The debate over affirmative action has been framed in part (by opponents of affirmative action) as a matter of protecting the rights of Asian Americans. These students are outperforming other groups on the SATs and ACT and would earn many more spots at top colleges if admissions focused on academics, the argument goes. After all, the enrollment of Asian American students has become stagnant at many of the leading colleges and universities (although it is far more than their share of the U.S. population). And the admit rate for Asian American students is lower than for other groups at these colleges.

But what if bias doesn't explain those realities?

A report being released today by the Georgetown University Center on Education and the Workforce finds no "strong evidence" of discrimination against Asian American applicants in admissions to the 91 most selective colleges.

  • The share of Asian American students has been "consistent" with the share of Asian American applicants who are "highly qualified."
  • While the Asian American admit rate is indeed lower than the rates of other groups at selective college, "they are also much more likely to apply to these colleges, regardless of their test scores."
  • "Even if standardized test scores were the only factor considered in admissions, the Asian American share of enrollment at the most selective colleges would increase by no more than 2 percentage points."

Anyway, the thing is, when you get to this level of academia, everyone is pretty qualified in terms of GPA and test scores. The schools then have to take other factors into account.

Athletics, Legacies, Dean Interest, families of faculty or staff make up 43% of admissions to Harvard, and 68% of those are white.

Racial preferences are just one factor being considered.
