Why is American food so bad?

If you eat out, you can either go to a pub or a restaurant. The guys at the top of their game, qualified chefs, work in restaurants so you tend to get better and the best food. These tend to be in Interior Designed out buildings.

A standard pub employ cooks, someone who is generally good at cooking meals, so you get cheaper and traditional meals. You can all too often get crap meals there. So with a pub, you have balance the overall meal to the price. sometimes you feel the food was average, but the cheap price means you would probably return. Once the price creeps up and the meal remains standard, you tend to try other places instead.

But the thing is with American food, the chemicals in the ingredients. Hence why so much of it is banned outside of it's borders. The ingredients at home are fresher and healthier in the UK, and if you can cook, the meals are spot on.

I've eaten in Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina. Like I've said, didn't fine anything special.
It depends on how many sheets in the wind you are.

the tourist that they interview out here on the strip say the main thing they look forward to is the food we have here.....maybe you just dont like good tasting food....
I'll probably have more types of ingredients in my kitchen cupboards than you have hairs in your underwear.

They make some pretty good pot roasts and veggies at some inns. Euros do cheeses better, too. That's about all I can think of in their favor, lol. A local Vietnamese joint here makes the best spring rolls I've ever had. The chef has a British accent, lol.

In edit, it's probably an Australian accent.
It's not that American cheese makers don't know how to make good cheese. It's the scumbag owner who has them making cheese from fat free milk. Then, the "cheese" doesn't even melt in sauces, when used sliced, its texture is like rubber on a sandwich.

Depends on where you eat, what you order, and what you consider acceptable levels I suppose. I felt like the Czech Republic food tended to be too salty for my preference but I understand that is pretty normal for central/eastern european fare. I do agree that America has a sugar problem though.
Of course, they drink Pilsner instead of water.

True story: A fellow took a job in Prague. During orientation he was told "No alcohol" during working hours. Then, at lunch time at the company cafeteria his coworkers ordered beer with whatever they ate. He was dumbfounded and said "I was told no alcohol during work hours." The colleagues were laughing and said "Beer is not alcohol, they meant no spirits."

BTW, the original Budweiser is made in Czechia. Fantastic beer! American so-called "Budweiser" is like piss compared to it.
The other thing is that Pilsner Urquell exports its beer to the USA already bottled because they don't want Americans tinker with it (water it down before bottling if it were exported in bulk) and ruin the reputation of the excellent beer.

The only thing worse than Budweiser is Budweiser Light. Yeeech.

What did you eat in those states?
NC has some good BBQ and sausage.
GA has peaches n Pecans and Good Old Southern Food.
FL has a lot of Caribbean food. I could have an Empanada or Jamaican Beef Patty every morning if I wanted.

Beans made in pressure cookers end up tasting like little balls of wax. Slow cooking is by far the best way to cook beans.

The early McDonald's fries were actually pretty good, and are what made the stores popular. They don't make them that way any more, haven't since the 1960's.
Snowflakes made them quit using beef tallow to fry them in.

America has appropriated many foreign food styles.

I have never heard anyone say…..Let’s go out for British food!
I kind of like fish and chips, but it does get a bit too greasy after a while.

On topic:

Does Canadian food count as American food? I have always enjoyed Canadian, or as I like to call it, white people food. Especially salads. It's amazing the kind of stuff they add to a salad, to make vegetables taste amazing. I especially love Greek salad. So simple and yet so amazing. Its healthy, too.

Needs moar bacon and ham. Maybe some other cheese, too.

Oh, I gotta go get some hamburger and coffee early.
Yep, gonna do it. Maybe some pork chops, too.

Actual whale is kind of fatty, but not bad.
I'd like to know what that is in that vid, it looks good!
We were just talkin' 'bout yellows and reds earlier. Not the right time of year for that right now. :(
Too hot.

80% packaged US food banned in other countries

I often chuckle at the myths yanks have about British food. Probably because they've never been abroad. The number of Americans on the likes of YouTube etc.. that now live in the UK and Europe, couldn't believe how dreadful their American food was.

So I typed in, "Why is American food so dreadful" -

Go onto YouTube and check it out, American food is literally dreadful.
It’s not food, most of it is a bioweapon

Anything with “enriched” flour needs to be tossed on the bonfire

Never had one of my Mothers Sunday Dinners. It was real American cooking. This video shows some pretty tasty Colonial cooking. I know life was rough in those days just to survive but when they ate they really ate some good food.
