Attrition would be the more relevant term, I suppose...

“Has went to war”
You folks are hilarious
Fascism is fascism, another form of authoritarianism. The "communism" most people talk about is actually Marxist-Leninist-Stalinist authoritarianism, and, thus, difficult to distinguish from fascism as both put the state at the center of existence.
Socialism is not defined by its name. It is a very broad term. It has some useful, some useless and some very negative attributes, much like "capitalism". This is why so many nations employ aspects of both while being neither in any purist sense. Basically, we should have learned that anything that puts other than human spirit and well-being at the center of existence is poisonous.
The German social democrats were the largest party in Germany. Hitler split from them in 1926. In 1933 Hitler purged the German government of socialists, communists, Jews and democrats. He killed them or put them in Dachau.Friedrich Hayek, a famous economist, proved the Germans of the 30s and 40s were clearly socialists.
So what is the gripe? Apparently American socialists hate the notion that they are not the only socialists. They use propaganda to try to undermine that indeed the Nazis were true socialists. In fact it is difficult to locate a group more socialist than were the Nazis.
This article for example tries to help the socialists of America by denouncing the version by Hayek who lived under those socialists and could easily testify as a true expert about socialism.
To the deniers. Ask why the Germans were so delighted with Hitler until he went to war? Ask how Hitler embarked under massive socialist programs that actually did cause Germany to once more be prosperous.
Because of the German prosperity under Hitler, one might think American socialists would be happy Hitler was a socialist. And point out he did deliver prosperity as they tell us now they can do.

"I would further ask him to concede that whether he agrees with the ends and goals of other socialists, their use of command and control and their introduction of some form of institutional central planning to pursue their declared 'social good' makes their system just as much a 'socialist' one...www.aier.org
Just remember that "Government of the people, by the people, for the people" is also over (uber) the people. Only a theocracy where "God" is ruler could be arguably different, and I doubt we want that.Socialism, Communism, Fascism, Progressive all say the same thing "Government Uber Alles"

Obviously both he and you have a desire to "prove" socials are fascist which is both a lie and ridiculous on its face...Friedrich Hayek, a famous economist, proved the Germans of the 30s and 40s were clearly socialists.

WW III was going to comment on that aspect myself. Back when I was a child, we had the socialism of FDR. Believe me, he was a practicing socialist. When my parents needed food, they had to use Federal ration coupons. If Dad needed tires for his car, he had to get a permit form, called a ration coupon merely to buy a tire. Then tires were not as they are today. Today the tires are vastly improved. An industry was created in WW2 known as tire regrooving. I had an uncle who regrooved tires so they had tread and he earned his living that way. Lights were covered when the Sun went down. We normally saw columns of jeeps passing by and trucks for the military. War planes were heard above us all day long. We had war planes crash in the city of Oakland so it was real folks.

And the life expectancy was around 65.... There was a time when a good percentage of people did not have health insurance ut when they paid for things the costs were massively lower also. You would think the government getting involved with supplement those costs. ...

"Although fascist parties and movements differed significantly from one another, they had many characteristics in common, including extreme militaristic nationalism, contempt for electoral democracy and political and cultural liberalism, a belief in natural social hierarchy and the rule of elites, and the desire to create a Volksgemeinschaft (German: “people’s community”), in which individual interests would be subordinated to the good of the nation."
"Nazism, totalitarian movement led by Adolf Hitler as head of the Nazi Party in Germany. In its intense nationalism, mass appeal, and dictatorial rule, Nazism shared many elements with Italian fascism. However, Nazism was far more extreme both in its ideas and in its practice. In almost every respect it was an anti-intellectual and atheoretical movement, emphasizing the will of the charismatic dictator as the sole source of inspiration of a people and a nation, as well as a vision of annihilation of all enemies of the Aryan Volk as the one and only goal of Nazi policy."
That's not socialism, but it sure does sound a lot like your 2023 GOP.
Equally respectfully, today's population is incapable of understanding the ideals, motivations and practices of those who founded the nation.Respectfully, we were conceived as a nation with a very limited government with clearly defined roles and responsibilities....it was never uber alles

Socialism is an economic system not a political party.Who did Socialism right, Mao, Stalin, Pol Pot, Castro?
It’s just life. You need to get more people to agree with you, not take the cheap way out and suggest there’s something undemocratic going on.Progressivism is basically just wearing people out from constant harrassment.
Equally respectfully, today's population is incapable of understanding the ideals, motivations and practices of those who founded the nation.

YouTube censored a video containing several pages of the Christian Covenant School shooter’s manifesto that he first leaked on Monday, the company confirmed on Tuesday.
The now-deceased Audrey Hale killed six individuals with a gun inside the Covenant School in Nashville, Tennessee, in March, and authorities verified they found her manifesto allegedly planning the attack. YouTube says it took down conservative political commentator’s Steven Crowder’s video because it included a link to Hale’s writings, but the company does not appear to have a specific rule about manifestos and other videos containing them are still on the platform. . .
. . . “Our Community Guidelines prohibit linking to content containing manifestos from individuals who have committed violent attacks, including the tragic event that took place in Nashville Tennessee in February of 2023,” a YouTube spokesperson told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “This is consistent with how we’ve enforced our Community Guidelines in the past.”
YouTube’s “violent extremist or criminal organizations policy” does not mention the term “manifesto,” but the company cited the policy in a screenshot Crowder posted regarding the video takedown. The policy prohibits “content that glorifies or promotes violent tragedies, such as school shootings” as well as “raw and unmodified reuploads of content created by terrorist, criminal, or extremist organizations.”
YouTube also enforces the policy on external links, according to its community guidelines. Yet a video about now-deceased California mass shooter Elliot Rodger titled, “Elliot Rodger: His Biographical Manifesto” is still on the platform. Moreover, a video about now-deceased Virginia Tech mass shooter Seung-Hui Cho titled “Virginia Tech Shooting Confession Video” is also on the platform.
Both videos have been up for over nine years and have large view counts. The former has almost 500,000 views and the latter has over 3.5 million.
WW II
Rationing was done to provide for the war effort.
Not in any way related to socialism.
FDR's programs saved the US from Communism.
