Well because they are fed, paid, and entertained. They aren't smart enough to see what they've become, they aren't smart enough to see what the future holds, and they only care that the media keeps assuring them that everything's going to be fine.

Whenever anyone rises up to challenge the status quo, like the Libertarian Party, the Tea Party, or the Occupy Wall Street people, they are ridiculed and marginalized.

Things will only change when they get so bad that two generations suffer. The Obamabots will never ever admit to being wrong, but their children will hold no such loyalty and will tire of the state of things, but it will have to get bad before the people's suffering overtakes the platitudes, and diversions provided by the powers that be.

If there has ever been a case of someone mis-understanding their audience, your post is it.

The point of message boards or at least this one is to engender a response. So the posts veer toward one extreme or another. Nobody from the doom an gloom side of the coin (Grumps, Oddball, LGS, Beretta, Nova, Werwhatever, 007, etc...) really think it is that bad here. Otherwise, they would have left the ******* country. How many have left. Zero.

This despite the "civil war" predictions that were voiced in the run up to the election.

The truth is that things are not that bad in this nation--nor have they ever been that bad when held up to the barometer of the rest of the world.

What you're also not understanding is the gun culture. While I will allow that guns are what you resort to when you can't reason with others, there ARE unreasonable people out there so in one narrow window, owning an arsenal that you'll never use makes sense. In the macro, however, the gun culture demographic is, well, frankly made up of those who are not that bright and can't think 2 moves ahead on the chessboard.....
