Why does the Rightwing Conservatives Hate Unions?

It's GREAT! All those people who said the Greek riots couldn't happen here are now seeing one sponsored by our President and his Barackobama.com organization.

I hope this finally awakens the people who've been sitting on the sidelines to say Enough to the Big Government-Public Union-Corporate Cronyism trifecta.

yep, Obama is one evil SOB.
He is all for unleashing this on the American people.

wake up folks.

Evil Obama Bastard!

He IS a Muslim ya know

I bet you voted for Reagan.

It's about weakening public union abuse of the taxpayer.

When government workers are bargaining with the government I think the taxpayers are in deep trouble. Should public unions really have the right to operate a monopoly whose product, by law, cannot be refused?

Governor Walker refuses to negotiate with the unions. The unions are willing to negotiate wages and benefits and share the sacrifice. We are all in trouble when one side refuses to deal with the other side in good faith. This Governor has a history of not dealing in good faith in previous positions. He also came in with a surplus and spent it on lobbyists and gave money for health care to people who don't need it. It only serves them as a tax shelter.

Take away collective bargaining and there is no union. Wisconsin has had public unions for over 50 years. They have a beautiful state and the public services have been a good value for the taxpayers.

I'm not concerned with this particular Governor's faith and currently ignorant of his history, both of which are beside the point.

Collective bargaining is fine in the private sector. (provided neither side is allowed the use of force or fraud) But public unions have been a disaster and a drain on every State for far too long including the fountainhead that is Wisconsin. (beautiful as it may be)

The government works both sides against the taxpayer and both are playing with house money. Taxpayers fund the government and the government union, and then the union uses it's money to fund the political campaigns (largely) only it's preferred party. Corruption is not just a bug, it's a feature.

And what about the corruption that would replace it; after every election there would be huge turnovers filled with patronage jobs given to people who are not qualified for the position or at least lacking real experience.

which part of 'we have no money' is over the intellectual paygrade of the op? It's not an unreasonable demand... For public sector workers to meet some of their own benefits costs. You want a pension, great - contribute towards it. You want health coverage - great - contribute towards it. All the gov is saying is that the public sector needs to operate like the private sector. It's not about unions - it's about money. We can't afford you, either go or take cuts. Either is fine.
you must spread some reputation around before giving it to california girl again

roflmao!!!

Like I've been saying recently,

conservatives want the gap between rich and poor to be as large as possible. Unions are just one more means to attempt to close that gap.

Conservatives want every working class person to be working for absolutely as little compensation as can be gotten away with. That is the 'market' they worship. Unions try to value work higher,

conservatives want work valued as low as possible.

Conservatives hate unions because hating unions is a logical product of the conservative philosophy.

hey Carb....Dean is looking for someone to anchor the tent he throws over EVERY Conservative.....you look like a good Candidate....
Carb's an anchor... no doubt.

The truth has no credibility with the right. If facts get in the way of your pre scripted talking points......ignore the facts

The Republican party is pure evil is a fact ?

No wonder lefties version of the truth makes no sense......

This coming from the same hankerchief head Tom who said real racism comes from left wingers, as if the racism on the right is fake racism or nonexistent.

The difference is now we have massive government sponsored racism on the left while the racism on the right is relegated to individuals and small private groups.

But you understand that, even though you want to ignore the truth.

Affirmative Action is racist. Racial Quotas are racist. The NAACP is racist. La Raza is racist. The New Black Panthers are racist. Our President is racist and he closets his racism in flowery terms like "Social Justice", which means paybacks are in order, and "Collective Salvation", which means reparations are in order. He loves to start civil unrest in states like Arizona as paybacks for them requiring him to produce a valid birth certificate. Several other states are requiring he produce one to be placed on the ballot.

Trolling and no facts.

Just to review, the union will give in to the financial demands.

This is about destroying collective bargaining, pure and simple.

This is one more reason the Republican Party is pure evil.
I'd say 'grow a brain', but I do believe the ground has been salted and irradiated.

Because they do not believe in the right to assembily

I've never heard of the right to assembily.

As for the unions, look at how they behave. There ya go.

First Amendment to the United States Constitution - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

TextCongress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

It's not peaceful.

"The leadership of the Assembly has decided to recess due to security concerns. We will reconvene on Tuesday morning and are confident that the security concerns will no longer exist. We are committed as ever to pass Governor WalkerÂ’s Budget Repair Bill and will do so next week," the statement reads. "Millions of taxpayers spoke in November and we will not let them down. We have a fiscal crisis that canÂ’t be ignored. We have the votes to pass the bill; it is only a matter of time."

I bet you voted for Reagan.

She did. But it was in 1996 so it didn't count.

The CIA moved all the votes for Reagan in 1996 to the 2000 slate. Helped alot in Florida.

What do you expect from the same State that helped fake the Moon landings.

(Jokes aside, since your newish... "rightwinger" is left of center and "Ragnar" is a small "o" objectivist/libertarian. Rightwinger was just being a bit snarky above)

No, all Republicans are evil, a "fact" you whole heartedly agree with.....:clap2:

Unions drive up the price of labor, merchandise, etc.... period!

I honestly believe most public employees give an honest effort. It really disturbs me when I hear people run down their neighbor. We all need to make a living, and there needs to be an ass for every seat. If everyone became a hedge-fund manager, there would be no 'funds'...someone has to plow the snow at 2AM so commuters can get to work at 8AM...these are not glory jobs, but they are necessary. I prefer the snowplow driver and wing man plowing past my parked cars has done it for years. I don't want some guy taking a 'crash' course...literally...LOL

15th post
Unions drive up costs.

First they demand much more pay for workers. When a company is forced to make that pay, often, they can't afford to, so they have to raise prices on the services they're offering. That's one of the reasons why Wal Mart can have its low prices, is the lack of Unions. If Wal Mart was to get unionized, then the prices would drastically increase, perhaps even double, and they'd lose a lot of their business.

We are not running down our neighbors. It is the Unions they belong to. If they really want to make a statement and stand with the rest of us, they will RENOUNCE their Unions for what they are doing RIGHT NOW against the rest of Us.

How can you be so uninformed? The unions are willing to negotiate wages and benefits and share the pain. The Governor refuses to negotiate. You want them to stand with people who want to hurt them and their families? Talk about narcissism and self absorbed.

I suppose the Christians should have stood with the lions?
