If I'd been born in 1900, by the 1920's I'd probably have ended up a bootlegger carrying prohibition Scotch across the Detroit River from Canada....a rackets cat, a mobster but a smooth one like Legs Diamond, not a thug....I'm half-Italian and loved to fight when I was young so I'd have been dangerous but suave. I'd have driven an L-29 Cord and had a couple flappers around to do the Charleston with and I'd have known Ty Cobb and had a speed boat on Belle Isle. People rarely wore spectacles in public back then, they were seen as things that old people wore, women especially would not have worn spectacles, instead in public women would appear with the Lorgnette, beautiful works of art, often very decorative and exquisite.
