It is additive, every month things are higher, for instance, two percent the first month, plus three percent the next, plus seven percent the next month, plus eight percent the next, plus five percent the next and so one. in other words, a numerical example $2.00 + $3.00 + $7.00 + $8.00 + $5.00 equaling out to a fictitious $25.00 increase over five months. Every month things get more expensive just at a slower rate than before.
