I have been watching the NL playoff games, and the umpires make outrageous ball/strike calls nearly every inning. Why do we put up with this when we have the technology to make every call accurately?

You win some, you lose some......not to mention its part of the drama......leave it alone, it doesn't need fixing.

Take heart, will have replay challenge balls and strikes in 2026. That's a good first step to fix the problem.

We have replay in college football and yet the officials decided two games against us this year already.

Sometimes I've seen an Ump never miss, all game. It's as good as the box placement. Do they adjust that from Edman to Othani? Seems odd if you say one box fits all? Maybe it has to be that way.

Sometimes they remove the box on bad calls and quickly go to commercial. Yes it almost seems criminal at times.

Who decides when to pull the box? Or never show it? The media lol! Ump has free reign on those shows.

In fact free reign all year mostly. Sometime it appears they dont like a player bell-aching. Then bad calls follow to K K K all game.

Its weird? Many like "the human element" as they say above.

Who? AUBURN? Yes they just got hosed vs. GA.

TENN Titans? Huge letdown. Terrible season. Worst team in the league by far. Coach gone now.

No system is perfect. But somethings can be improved.

Drives me crazy to see obviously shitty pitches, far outside the strike zone, called strikes. And a pitch practically down the very middle middle of the plate called a ball, for that matter.

That all may be true, but adding a ball or strike challenge option is the right thing to do. Long overdue IMO.

They have metrics to adjust for player height, so there is no reason to put up with bad calls.
